One worry is that all his service dried up the second Gallagher went off. Yep we did score another one thanks to Bae and Moran, but I didn't see one good ball up to him to run onto after Tezgel came on. Tezgel should've been subbed on for Cannon not Gally, but I'm not gonna moan after a 6-1 win. I disagree. SG needed wrapping up, his contribution was so valuable and the job was done. Imagine if he’d have pulled up or got crunched? That wasn't my point. I agree with the sub, I just worry what will happen if he's not available due to injury or suspension. We reverted to slow backpassing almost immediately.

Some people have really made themselves look daft on here. Was expecting some humble pie posts but people keep digging amazingly. This whole eating humble pie thing after one game is just stupid. He played excellently in one game and that’s it. If he score double figures for the season then truck loads of the stuff is needed. If he ends up on 6 goals for the season then it isn’t. Last night could be a massive anomaly. It could be the start of something good. Or it could just be the same old inconsistent shite we’ve done in this league for 7 seasons now. I think most people are just pointing out it was quite ridiculous to write him off after two games. Far more ridiculous than people getting a bit over excited when he scores four goals in a league game. Of course he's still got plenty to do this season, but some of the early assessments are embarrassing.

If you want rational thought you've picked the wrong game.

Imagine going to sleep arguing about penalty taking and then deciding to carry on the futile debate the next morning... people who love having the last word are the absolute worst.

I think the thing to remember with Gallagher is that he's just coming back from an injury so we do need to be careful with him and manage his minutes until he's 100% so I wasn't against the sub to protect him.

That touch and finish for the fourth like something Robin Van Persie would’ve done. Class.
Both free kicks taken with the right foot (even the second one favouring a left foot strike) & proven he has thunderbastard in both pegs. Bravo

I get that, and even agree with NP here. But, Tezgel is similar to Cannon as a player, and nothing like Gally. Cannons service went straight to zero when Tez came on. I'm worried this will happen again if Gally is unavailable for a match

Calm it down, Tom. Any more of this and Cooper will be on the phone at midnight on New Years Day.

Swap Lowe for Tezgel with Walsall in January?

Ireland squad named today. Doubt he would've been in - but interesting to see if it's enough for him to be added overnight.

Any chance we could get him on a perm do you think?, wonder if we considered it over the summer, probably would only have only been remotely possible if we'd gained a load of cash from a Burger/Bae/Million sale

If they're marooned at the bottom, and he's in double figures here, it'll be a no-brainer for Cooper, you'd think?

Cooper made it quite clear he doesn’t rate Cannon with his team selections early in the season before he came to us. He was no where near the first team picture even with them being short of forwards. That may change if Copper was to lose his job though.

I agree his actions demonstrate clearly he doesn't rate him ButI think there's a danger whoever's in charge come January could be very tempted if the goals number he's got by then is in 2 digits and they're in deep trouble. Hopefully not, but could be a storyline to get us jumpy as January approaches.

Who was the fella bet me £50 he wouldn't score 5 this season again? i was the guy who said he wouldnt score more than 5, but i cant find evidence of this bet and ive just been through the thread i created “ couple of certanties “ 😂, im glad Cannon is on course to prove me wrong though. At least i called the Schmacher departure before Christmas correctly so 50% right at least 👍🏻

If he bags one today it’ll give him great momentum going into two home games.
Could finally be the 20 goal man.
