Competing with Coburn (looks quality young attacker) at Boro too. Also Burgzog who they signed as an attacker. Teams are getting greedy as fuck 🤣 Just remembered sheff Utd have Brewster too! ffs plz don’t let us end up with him 🤣

Not seen anything with this lad that remotely suggests he's a) what we need and b) good enough to solve that need.
He'll be a flop here I reckon.

Maybe we should just sign Haaland FFS. What? Exactly what level of player do you think we might be able to sign when you're turning your nose up at a young player who has scored at a decent rate in his limited championship appearances. Who do you consider to be realistic who would have a better chance of helping us improve our abysmal strike rate??

He'll be in the Championship but appears like Huthy's strung his mate along all summer.

He'll be in the Championship but appears like Huthy's strung his mate along all summer. Why. I doubt very much he’ll go to Sheff Utd as rumoured, he needs to go somewhere he’ll play every week. That might not mean he comes here but I doubt very much he’ll go somewhere he’ll be lucky to get minutes.

I can see him coming on loan if the rumours are true and we’re prepared to pay the majority of his wages.
That way he’s not committed to signing on a long contract and the decision will be more Leicesters so we should have a better chance unless someone matches us.
You’d also expect his club wanting him to be first choice.

You’d also expect his club wanting him to be first choice. There has been a suggestion from a well known journo we might be after him on a perm. Depending on his wages it looks like a no brainer for him, it doesn’t look like he will be part of the picture at Leicester as long as Cooper is there. A deal with a fixed release fee would work for him to back his own ability but maybe we wouldn’t go for that it’s not part of the model. imo needs must.

Putting the fact that we need a striker aside for a moment, is Cannon actually the answer or any good? We seem so desperate on here for his signature.

Does seem to be a bit of eggs in one basket with his name being mentioned. I just hope its a classic Stoke City smokescreen & a) we have someone else in mind who hasn't been mentioned or b) We are planning on Stansfield

Which I think we probably could one on a perm one on loan.

Most people thinking he was the new Messiah and how he was going to save us. Look how that turned out. I honestly think we should'nt wait around for him and Stansfield for that matter as we could end up with neither and nothing up front.

Well my gut feeling is that it would be Cannon plus another striker needed. Our current crop arnt going to get us through and it would be hell of a burden on Cannon to expect him to score our goals alone. Surley we must be looking at one perm and one loan striker and hoping to shed one or two on loan or to Turkey!!

I don't think anyone is saying Cannon is the new messiah, he's just potentially better and something a bit different to what we currently have based on his time on loan at Preston. It's a different kettle of fish to Delap as well. We were his first senior loan which comes with additional risk, whereas Cannon has already been through that "first senior loan" breaking in period.

We'll see if Nixon was right with his Sheff Utd call, or whether we've got a chance

This hasn't surprised me one bit. Bigfoot sightings now outnumbering those of legit strikers. Beginning to wonder if Bigfoot isn't easier to locate and can be trained as a striker?
Every single club is on the hunt for them, either for display purposes or the PL clubs, who hoard them. A species that's been endangered for several years now, the few legitimate specimens left in the wild becoming harder to locate and capture. Lot's of "Imbulas" and other damaged goods diluting what's left of the herd. We may want to hire a consultant from National Geographic.

The answer is unequivocally yes!! We should only be bringing in players better than those we have. He certainly is ( which is not difficult given we have the atrocious Ennis as the only fit senior centre forward). Tezgel/ Lowe will get there but not ready
