It's a huge relief that it isn't a manager's mate appointment, which was my biggest fear. Fingers crossed he does the business, as I thought Jared was starting to do a very good and understated job despite the criticism. The transfers at Hull, pre Turkish Simon Cowell era seem very wasteful and patchy at best, from the 16/17 season that he has been there. Lots of expensive flops that ultimately saw them drop from the PL to League One. <Klaxon> Norwich era was at the same time as Tricky and Neil, and the transfers there were largely expensive and garbage as we've previously discussed. Prior to that he was an analyst, a number cruncher. Let's hope this is the kick start to his career. From my recollection you were chief knicker wetter predicting it would be one of Jon Boys old buddies. After all the hysteria over Dublin being let go and the prophesies of doom here we are. Was it really worth all the ranting and raving?

He looks like Lee from Gogglebox. He's also from Hull.

On the face of it he seems to be solely operating in the domestic market. These wildcards ought to see some activity in markets Jared seemed to excel or at least have a good knowledge. 7 years at Hull and though they challenged for the play offs last year this was imho due to Rosesenior ( a good manager ) and Philogene ( £5m ) and loaning Cavalho. So hardly attributable to LD . Jared was somewhat of a maverick it’s being said . In my view he’s more likely to find another Junho . I’m expecting the Coates stay English to kick in again

How is this guy any better than Jared?? It really does feel like Walters has not liked our foreign experiment....even with the successes staring him in the face and probably worth the best part of 40 mil and we've gone back to fishing solely in the British market.
Why not have both, if he thought Jared was lacking in the British market? Its not like we couldn't afford both their annual wage

Back to signing a load of British plodders then.
Hull fans don't seem to like him one bit.
Looks like a downgrade on Dublin for me.

Hull one of the biggest let down for me this season in terms of squad and missing out on the play offs Not recruitment's fault for me. A decent side. Blame game a bit maybe

Didn't take long for SJW to move from being the inspiration behind our improvement to being cause of making us worse. I despair of some of the comments on here!!

Jared had the potential to turn our fortunes around and had made some early victories. Let's see if this is another step forward or backwards.

Hull had a far better squad than us last season even if they were missing the spice that Junho and Million added. Missingg out on the playoffs in the last game is something I'd accept this season.

Some people on here really do pull their opinions from their arse. The guy isn't even in the job and has been labelled a failure already by some muppets on here.

How many signings from other countries has this fella made?
HARDLY ANY it would seem.
Its definitely going to be overpriced British players (including Prem loans) - so 1 year foreign experiment is definitely over from what I can see.
Very underwhelming - and for those moaning about the moaners - ITS A BLOODY MESSAGEBOARD AND OPINIONS ARE ALLOWED.
Love to be proven wrong but I doubt it looking at this fella and Walters as DOF.

Taking into account all known factors and making a fair amount of guesswork about the rest seems to me we are neither better off nor worse with this change
Will have a much better idea by September

So the lads been written off before hes got here (by some) Lets give him a chance eh? It's what our fans do. First it was " it'll be a mate of JW" Then "it'll be a mate of ss" Then "JW will do the job himself"" Now "its back to English plodders " Why people just don't wait to see the result of these decisions before criticising everything the club does.. Yes opinions are welcome but constantly having the most negative of opinions towards everything scfc do is just pathetic before the full picture is known.

Has anybody ever heard of this dude previously?
I don't imagine he's coming in and we don't already have our list of targets for the Summer in place
Assuming who we will and won't look at as well.

The job needs someone who is willing to set up a proper scouting network as well as recruitment policy. Jared was a software geek who didn't have any background in football or track record scouting and was playing FM with JCs money. I think the idea that we've passed up on the greatest talent ever is a bit far fetched.
As for the foreign signings I think we will have a different window more because of our limited wild card slots than anything to do with Jared.
While everyone was busy jizzing over foreign forwards we left our defence woefully short with loans, old men and trainees and no 1st choice GK that was ours. RM, JD and AN oversaw a terrible squad rebuild that had no coherence from back to front. We had no spine, We were impotent upfront and unbalanced in defence.
Before Dublin achieves mythical status in hindsight I'd like to see this window out first. From what I understand JD liked to be in front of a screen and not too keen on getting out and about. Time will tell.
