I’m on the fence with him. On his day excellent but he’ll need to step up and be far more consistent.
That said, he’s obviously a Schumacher fave and for that reason I think he’s a key signing.
If we’re backing SS then we need to give him players who suit his style and Cundle is exactly that.

Hope he comes, once he kind of settled he was arguably one of our better players.
If we can get him permanently for say £1.5m I think it’s good business with his age etc.

He's a quality player who will only improve, he would be a great signing for us. He won't play well every game but with the right players around he's a huge threat and he scores goals. His goal against Sheffield Wednesday was of the highest quality and whilst under pressure from the fans and the situation, the composure in that finish shows he has a bit of class.

Bit strange that if SS wanted him and cundle wants to join ..why is it happening only 2 days before season starts …does not make sense ..surely everyone involved would have wanted a pre season together

I must admit I was far from impressed by Cundle after his first games for us, but I must also admit he played ever so well in our last 3-4 games. I'd certainly rather have him as our attacking midfielder than Baker who right now seems as our only player for that position, at least if SS still insists playing Bae on the wing.

Annoyingly though such things just result in the team being totally under strength for the first month or so of the season.

Help me out Bayern. Can you describe what makes him “wank”? Like he’s top end championship for expected assists, expected goals, progressive carries, tackling, key passes, passes into the penalty box and more. Slightly cavalier with his passing so he loses it a bit more than a lot of midfielders and he also is small so doesn’t win many headers, but that’s about it? If we could sign him for the reported £1.5m it amazes me w we haven’t already. In fairness, I’m normally pro-player but he’s right. If it’s the Cundle from April on then great deal, but he wasn’t great to begin with. Then again… neither was the whole team. fbref.com/en/players/cc3b8e78/Luke-CundleWhen he first joined he wasn’t used to how the team played, we were disgustingly static which is what makes it so hard to create and score chances. When the team moved more he showed his class. A seriously classy player.

True but you would have thought Wolves would have had a fairly clear idea of what they wanted to do with a player by the end of last season - I can’t imagine pre-season events have that much influence on their opinions about a player who has been on their books for a good while.

The last 3. He was shite before like most of the team. Another loan I can live with. Paying actual money for him after a failed loan spell? Madness. Help me out Bayern. If we could sign him for the reported £1.5m it amazes me w we haven’t already. He was missing for most of the time he was here. He had 3 good games, that’s not enough when the majority of evidence suggests he wasnt good enough at this level.

Played better and better towards the season end so I'd be very happy if we signed him. We don't have enough goal scorers in our club so a midfielder who can also score would be most welcome. If he'd had a blinder of a season here we wouldn't probably be able to pay his transfer fee. Reel him in please.

That fee seems very low to me, but I’d like to see us sign him up permanently even if the fee is double that, I don’t think we’d lose money on him.

Would I normally clamour for the signing of a player with a physique I’ve likened to a child no but if we’re not choosing players to make the HC’s style of play work the structure is broken.

We don’t seem to be in a position to be making gambles on players where imo we have a big enough sample size to know which way it’ll go. I wouldn’t sign him at all based on last season but I can see the logic with a loan again. It just gives me Hoever vibes I’m not going to lie. I wouldn’t have signed him again and then he just did what he did for a season of why I wouldn’t have gone anywhere near him.

Don't really want him back just based upon a good ending to the season when we were playing well.
He doesn't show up for the grinding matches which are the majority of games in a championship season
If we put our creative hopes on Cundle next season we probably deserve to be bottom half.

His performances and the performances of the team in the last few games are a blueprint for how Schumacher wants to play, did the team improving help get the best out of Cundle or did Cundle help improve the team? Either way it was very positive and can hopefully be replicated this season......
