Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko
Imagine compensation will be in the 400-500k region … but don’t quote me on that

Can't see how he could co-exist in the same set-up as Tricky though? You'd think he'd bring his assistant and maybe another couple, but it'd be odd if we found a role for him with Tricky here. Hopefully we’re not buying a Ferrari with a wheel missing (wish I could come up with a much better analogy!) If Dewsnip is paramount to his success, as reports suggest, then Id say its a concern

Which is weird to me because if there’s anywhere we sound most like it’s Nottingham I think. I think the Sheffield accent sounds most like a Stoke accent. South Sheffield I would agree

When I was in Brum doing my physio recently one physio thought I was scouse, one said Nottingham and two guessed at Sheffield. Not one said Stoke so I guess it's not an easy accent to pin down if your not from here. If you are from here you can hear a Stoke accent a mile off 😅

Hopefully we’re not buying a Ferrari with a wheel missing (wish I could come up with a much better analogy!) Yes it’s a slight concern and I’m still convinced if Mick Harford had accompanied Mad Nath here he’d have done a lot better Yep and we got Paul Harte…

I think the Sheffield accent sounds most like a Stoke accent. Always thought theres a bit of scouse, a bit of Manc and a bit of east midlands in there. Definately no Brummie Its unique Listen to the Wolves accent. If you can filter out the yam yamishness there are marked similarities.

Stoke going for a cheap option. They don't knew what they doing sorry. How can Schumacher be the "cheap option" when the likes of Eustace and Heckingbottom are out of work?

Stoke going for a cheap option. They don't knew what they doing sorry. With all due respect we don't know how much it is costing the club and we don't know how he's going to do so let's just wait and see how it works out before sharpening the knives. It could go brilliantly or could go wrong but until we know it's not worth getting on at the club really is it.

Schumacher done well with Plymouth. Do I think he do ok here, don't think so. Stoke had a good chance to get Nuno Santos in. Eustace and Heckingbottom are cheap options to if we looking at them to.

uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/stoke-city-close-appointing-plymouth-175750603.htmlStoke City are close to appointing Plymouth Argyle’s Steven Schumacher as their new manager.John PercySchumacher is in advanced talks with Stoke and is set to be confirmed as Alex Neil’s successor this week following discussions over the past 48 hours, with a compensation package broadly agreed. The 39-year-old has established a fine reputation in his first permanent managerial post, leading Argyle to the League One title last season. Schumacher is renowned as a progressive coach, completing his Pro License last June, while Plymouth’s title triumph last season was built on the foundations of an outstanding home record, winning 20 of their 23 matches and losing just two. In contrast, Neil’s home record at Stoke was dreadful, losing 16 of his 30 league matches, and improving results in front of the club’s supporters is regarded as crucial by the Stoke board. Stoke have considered a number of other candidates in a lengthy process, including former player John Eustace, ex-Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom and Blackburn’s Jon Dahl Tomasson. Michael Beale, who was announced as the new manager of Championship rivals Sunderland on Monday, is understood to have held initial talks last week. Dean Holden, the assistant to former Stoke manager Michael O’Neill, was also interviewed. Yet Schumacher, a former Everton trainee who was once part of the club’s youth team which included Wayne Rooney, has emerged as the preferred choice to take charge at the bet365 Stadium. Stoke face Millwall at home this weekend and want Schumacher to be officially installed in the next few days. If, as expected, Schumacher departs Plymouth he will leave after just over a year in charge since succeeding Ryan Lowe, who left for Preston. During that time he has won more than half of his league games with 51 victories and 18 draws. Neil was dismissed on December 10 after the home defeat by Sheffield Wednesday. Stoke are currently 20th in the Championship table, just two points adrift of the relegation zone.
