Both a big risk, would rather go for someone like Will Still if we're going down that road. Need to find the next Graham Potter before they become a Graham Potter. Schumacher could be? he's in his second full year of management and won the league with 101 points last season, sit above us as its stands with a squad put together with 1% of our budget, play some nice attacking stuff and have a identity, something weve lacked for the best part of a decade

How is Schumacher like Jones? There must be thousands of managers who’ve only had 1 job/club up to yet. It doesn’t make them like Nathan Jones.

I was all aboard the Schumacher train, now Eustace has his name lobbed back in the ring😳 Is Eustace Station the end of the line?

Presumably Schumacher & Eustace both know they have competition for the job
That gives Stoke an advantage when negotiating
also if a deal isn't 100% done* it's prudent to keep talking to the other guy otherwise you end with a George Burley situation
*& no dela is done till it's done
Sunderland vacancy being filled doesn't do any harm either

Whoever it is needs to impose a very clear style and structure.
Football is a simple game, feel like managers like Neil and Jones overcomplicated things unnecessarily.
Stick to one formation, unless trailing - let the players get used to it and let the opposition worry about us.

He would have trodden on Tricky's toes, you'd think.

Schumacher Feels like a Neil rinse and repeat signing. Not enthusiastic More jones to me. League 1 standard (nothing at all to prove he’s championship standard yet) Currently in a relegation battle with his current club (at least jones was on the up with Luton) Hasn’t won away all season. I find it bizarre to be plucking a manager from another club with this stat. Has won 4 points away all season. No experience of the transfer market and spending bigger budgets on bigger players, which has undone so many of his predecessors. Obviously if he’s appointed then I hope he’s a total success, I’m a stoke fan at the end of the day. Just seems a total rinse and repeat job with JC refusing to look beyond the end of his nose and having the balls to bring SCFC into the modern world.

They play fast attacking football and don't let up until the final whistle sounds. It would be weird to watch that kind of shit wouldn't it! BM

Yep when I moved to Manchester to study at the Poly in the early 80's the locals mistook my accent for scouse. I work in Manchester currently (and previously lived there for a few years about 20 years ago) and all the natives think I'm from Merseyside. The funny thing is though, I don't have a particularly strong Stoke accent and the firm I work for employs quite a few genuine Scousers (a lot of whom speak in an indecipherable spittle-flecked Carragher/Ricky Tomlinson stylee). Shirley they don't think I sound like those fuckin' meffs? Living in Nottingham people always think I come from Manchester

Criminal how badly we’ve been doing in the Championship really when you see our facilities vs. other clubs in the league. Surely someone can finally bring standards on the pitch up to where they should be - hopefully Schumacher is the man to do it.

BM He isn't here yet and I have learnt over time to completely disregard what managers have managed to do at other clubs. As soon as they get here they seem to disappear into some kind of vortex and reappear as a much diminished and more timid alter ego. Same thing applies for strikers and to be honest most other positions.

Is that Dewsnip guy, their technical director coming too, He’s crucial to the set up by all accounts. No point not letting Schumacher have one of his key staff.

We can’t keep taking a manager and a technical director. That’s not the point is it? We have to get a manager that fits in with what’s already here. Now we can question what’s already here but we shouldn’t be getting an all in one package because it makes no sense.

Can't see how he could co-exist in the same set-up as Tricky though? You'd think he'd bring his assistant and maybe another couple, but it'd be odd if we found a role for him with Tricky here.

Agreed, I would imagine Gallagher will stay, may have been a stipulation of Stokes, would certainly expect one or more of his trusted lieutenants to arrive as well.

Here is what he looked like in his days playing for Crewe Alex. ![Schumacher](https://media.gettyimages.com/id/676393438/photo/steven-schumacher-crewe-alexandra.jpg?s=612x612&w=gi&k=20&c=nc8rEgnKQj7QkPPmAiODviFd5FNNTWrqbePFiw0Tf-Y=) Does anyone know if Alex Morris was at Crewe whilst he was there? Yeah, Morris has been at Crewe since he was a lad, retired early after a bad injury then went straight into his coaching badges and working with the academy.

With Stoke you can never get ahead of yourself, I am desperate to watch some of the highlights of Plymouth matches to guage a feel for the style etc, but don't want to tempt fate until it's official 😳.

Yes it’s a slight concern and I’m still convinced if Mick Harford had accompanied Mad Nath here he’d have done a lot better
