PSR been scrapped may be good, but big clubs still want an unfair playing field it seems. A salary cap would help but turkeys don't vote for Christmas.

So Mickleover have today been docked 12 points for playing an unregistered gk for seven games. Fair enough you might think, they broke the rules. But they did send the paperwork to the FA who failed to pass it on to the relevant authorities. Apparently it is a club's responsibility to check the registration has gone through before they play him so their appeal failed. Meanwhile in the fantasy world of the Premier League you can break the rules by overspending by millions, not pay what you owe to other clubs and businesses, not pay players wages on time and you end up with a 2 point deduction

According to the Press,777, who are trying to buy them out, can't get the money.

It looks like 777 don't have any peas, so could see the club taking insolvency measures, despite the club saying otherwise. www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/sport/articles/cqqnkgv0k19o.amp"Meanwhile, 777-owned airline Bonza went into voluntary administration on Tuesday, and the abrupt cancellation of all of its flights left thousands of passengers stranded around Australia. The BBC is awaiting a statement from 777 regarding Bonza. In further financial strife, 777's UK public relations advisers have stopped representing the company after the firm did not meet payments on fees and it remains to be seen whether they will re-engage." The relation advisers its reported are missing cΒ£24m in payments. In my view the premier league must ensure 777 do not take over Everton, they quite clearly aren't fit and proper, and without the required finances to run a loss making club.

Could Everton go into administration next month and get a further 9 points deduction? The take over wont be complete for quite a while yet, the potential owners, 777 group, have already loaned them £100m this calendar year and it runs out this month and with Everton needing £20m a month to keep going (sounds insane), would you put more money in if there is a risk of failing the FA's fit and proper test , and with the existing owner saying he won't/can't put more money in. Would the investors come in with more money when there is the risk of relegation and losing the PL ££££ ? Wasn't quite 777 group being in trouble but short of money for more loans

Not been looking at all the ins and outs but when they were first mentioned , 777 business model for Everton ( and indeed other clubs they control or have an interest in ) was always viewed with a degree of scepticism / concern up here
Andy Bell and George Downing and their contacts have long been and are the ones of real interest to many Evertonians

They'd just got promoted out the junior league and essentially the club secretary was just some bloke who volunteers. From memory it wasn't until they got to the Scottish Cup that there was an issue discovered and then they looked back on previous games. He'd re-registered players like in previous seasons but had missed something new that was required moving up to the Highland League so they had 8 technically unregistered players. They'd started the season well too and went from 23 points from 10 games to -1 due to an admin error! Remember seeing an article where the secretary was absolutely gutted but he had a point around how the fuck was he supposed know if the league didn't come back challenging what he submitted especially in their first season in ever in the league.

Very similar. The stupid thing for Mickleover was that the player had been playing for them for three months and they just wanted to extend the loan but apparently submitted the papers to the wrong department. As you say nobody came back to them and said you need to send this here not to us. Knocked out by Telford tonight in the semi final of the playoff but they would probably have had to play them in the final anyway so ultimate result would have been the same. Still seems a very harsh punishment for a clerical error rather than an attempt to cheat.

Similar for Banks O Dee too as they still stayed up at a canter and one of the other chairmen who were a bell end (rules are rules) went down. Currently 4th but no playoffs so only top side goes up which is a bit shit really.

From their wiki page:- Controversy 777 Partners have been sued by multiple organizations for unpaid debts and contract breaches with lawsuits describing their financial practices as a "house of cards"[28][29][30] and a "sprawling fraudulent enterprise".[31][32] On 30 April 2024, Bonza, the Australian-based airline owned by 777 Partners, entered voluntary administration with all services suspended after the repossession of its fleet.[33]

I have Everton mates and went to watch a couple of prem games when we were shite back in the day. Have a soft spot and the away days a goodison always had that added bit of fun for our group of mates.
A great club and one that has been shafted by poor ownership decisions.
That capitulation today though is dreadful. Feel they need to move on from Dyche, as well as heβs done to keepe them in there last 2 years. Seems to have done what he can.
An example of another club FFP is holding back too, although they didnβt half a jizz a lot of cash on utter shite 4/5 years ago.
Hope they stay up for the new ground. A club and set of fans that deserve much better.
