Haha it reads very badly, but I assume they mean prioritising players like Manhoef and other gambles like Jojic over some solid signings maybe wasn't the best way to do our business. I do think we probably went 2/3 more gambles than we should have, but I was quite excited at the time so shows what I know. I know what he means but fuck me 🤣 The Manhoef signing just looks terrible. I actually quite like the look of him tbh but to spend 3/4m when you needed a CB and LB? Madness. And then to not use him. What the actual fuck. We’ve got a few problem areas in the squad at the moment but when we’re so poor at CB and LB signing a winger for that money, only to decide to start playing without wingers shortly after is just utter stupidity.

No amount of quality long crossfield balls can compensate for his totaly lack of defensive ability and awareness.

He’s been at Stoke for nearly 3 years and he’s not improved at all. He’s not developed physically. For me, at best he would be ok to have him as your 3rd choice behind your 2 main centre half’s. He’s a centre half in a right backs body.

In the Hughes days we had a few defenders claiming they were left on their own on the training ground with no drills or team talk/tactics before a game.
I mean what was going for the Norwich first goal, everybody had pushed to the halfway line and McNally was just wondering around 15 yards inside his own half playing everybody on, had he been told something else to everybody or are our current crop of threadbare defenders making it up amongst themselves as the match progresses
We played a team full of confidence and in form yesterday, we could ill afford just to gift them their first goal in the strange way we did. They looked a team who knew what they were doing and had a plan, we looked like a team unprepared and rabbit in the headlights when they saw what they were up against.
Can't just blame Wilmot for that performance, our keeper has made 4 or 5 top saves - that could have been another Leicester or even worse.

File Wilmot alongside Laurent, Baker, Campbell etc under bang average footballer going through the motions playing for a job and no real hunger to win other than it gives them something to put on instagram later. No heart or desire, and very little quality. Too many of these players in our squad.

I'm pretty sure he cares and tries, but he's just not that good.

They looked like they’d met in the car park for the first time 5 minutes before kick off Fully in agreement. But that is totally on Schumacher. It means that he is a complete failure at his job. The buck is totally on him and no one else. No one else? Are you serious? The BASICS of defending are not something that so called professional footballers should need coaching into them and that is what every single defender lacked yesterday. No communication, playing offside by standing 5 yards behind the next defender? No challenges? No marking? Yes Schumacher definitely had a part to play, but don’t exonerate the players who didn’t play at all! All members of an orchestra know how to play their instrument But if they all play out of tune that is entirely on the conductor

He’s absolutely terrible and insanely our player of the season, embarrassing and we wonder why things are so bad if he’s the bench mark

Before we went on our mad trolley dash in the summer I said to a mate that if Wilmott was anywhere near the starting 11 when the window closed, then we've had a an absolute mare. Nuff said.
He is 1/3 of the worst grouping of centre halves I think I have EVER seen at Stoke. The benefits of playing 4 at the back are largely down to us having one less liability of a centre half on the pitch. The Keystone Cops routine in the first half against Norwich was beyond parody.

They couldn’t perform under Neil, some of them who were here couldn’t under O’Neil, yet it’s always the coach. Wake up- the majority of the squad are average Div 1 players and that might be stretching it.
