I know we’re not a great side but you really don’t have to be world beaters to trouble the top 6 in this league, and so I don’t think it’s too far beyond our reach to be one of the teams going into the final flurry of fixtures with playoffs still in sight. Exactly my thoughts mate. We've got everything to play for and if we can put a good run together then who knows.

Over a 1000 of us going according to the Stoke site. They’re also doing pay on the day - cash only. I’m coming down from Newcastle on the train for this one, get in Boro for 2pm so I’m thinking of getting a quick pint in “hit the bar” then a walk to the ground. Thought we would have been more around the 1,500+ plus We never travel well to the North East. The price and hassle of trains to that area may be a factor but I've always found it strange.........

Sure I've seen we've not won at boro in the last 7 visits I've only ever seen us win there in the first season at the Riverside when Paul Stewart scored in a smash and grab win under Chic Bates. But I can't recall us ever winning there since? EDIT: 2 draws and 5 defeats since the win in 1997.

Yes it’s not been the best ground for points since the Paul Stewart winner I remember us winning there under Alan Ball I think when Tony Ellis scored(New Years Day?) and also the 2-1 win on a Tuesday night when I think Foley scored one in pouring rain 🤔and followed up by the Forest and Man Utd wins in a great week

Stevens in for Thompson and that’ll do for me. Yes I agree - we need some consistency in selection. After the Boro we have 2 games over a 4 week period so I'm not sure the need to rest players (except if still recovering from injury) is that pressing. It’s Mmaee and Vidigal i’d rest

The buzz is back. Gutted I can’t go.
In terms of that Leris post further up the thread - just what on earth do some folk watch? For me he was MOTM vs both Sunderland and Leeds. If you’re playing Hoever then I think this fella is a must in front of him.
I think Neil needs to learn from the lessons of last seasons mini golden run and rest players though. Especially with the squad we’ve now got.
Tchamadeu, Gooch, Sidibe, Laurent, Haksabanovic, Bae, Wes, Lowe are all there to be used and they don’t take quality away. It’d be reassuring to see a fair few of these lads given starts for me.

I just have zero recollection of the goals other than carruthers late deflected winner off his chest. Getting old mate. The memories fade somewhat.

I watched the goals and still couldn’t remember Stiggers. I do remember it absolutely pissing down and the coach journey taking forever. We did get to leave school early though. I passed my driving test on the Friday after the game. Forest away was the first away game I drove to myself and the start of not missing a game for years on end.

They’re on a roll though I’m not convinced they’re as good on paper as Leeds. It’ll be interesting to see if he makes changes with 3 games in a week. I’d go with Travers Hoever Rose McNally Stevens Pearson Burger Bae Leris Mmaee Hacks (Id give Vidigal a rest) I’d be surprised if Thompson was left out. And Johnson seems to be preferred to Bae.

What I would say is if we lose we take it on the chin and don’t over react and that applies to Neil too. We need to keep the formation and personal (maybe 1 or 2 changes when players get tired / injured) as it is as after the last 2 games it feels like players are getting used to each other and playing well. No more 343

I think Stevens starts for me, I think he's a better footballer than Thompson and uses the ball really well. Thompson doesn't deserve to be dropped in my opinion, but he's a very useful squad player and seems a good egg.

Thompson doesn't deserve to be dropped in my opinion, but he's a very useful squad player and seems a good egg. I don’t think Thompson is anywhere good enough as a regular starter. I think Thompson knows he needs to be right at the top of his game and 100% effort needed to raise his game. That’s why he seems to be flourishing as a squad player, dropping in as required and giving his all. Fair play to him for that. The problem comes when/if he’s given a starter role. Thankfully we’ve covered that.

Feels like we’ve given ourselves a bit of a free shot here with the 2 home wins. Hopefully we can perform well and take some positives away regardless of the result. Looking at the fixture list, once this game is out of the way then there’s a lot of much more favourable fixtures between now and January. Obviously this league means there are no guarantees, but we’ve got a nasty run out of the way and should be looking up the table for the next few months. The goal for me is to stay within spitting distance of the top 6 because I’m sure we’ll be looking to make a few more signings in the window. I know we’re not a great side but you really don’t have to be world beaters to trouble the top 6 in this league, and so I don’t think it’s too far beyond our reach to be one of the teams going into the final flurry of fixtures with playoffs still in sight. That's never worked out. Whenever we think there's an easier run of games, it never turns out that way and we fare badly. We've won two games on the bounce which we have rarely done this last 7 awful years. We have a promising team. Now is the time to build on those results, there's no free hit, it's a game we should expect to take a point from. They are a good side but they're without their main men in Midfield and defence this weekend. We can get a good result here.

I know that they’re currently on a 7 game winning run but I have just been looking at their results at home & QPR beat them 2-0 up there. 5-0 Stoke.

Not even sure that one time was 3 league games. Was it 2 league games and 1 cup tie?

Leris wasn't motm, he won his headers and put a shift on, it was like watching Brown all over again.
