Eating plenty of humble pie today and this last week, AN has done a superb job this week when a lit of Stoke fans including me had written him off, hopefully a corner has been turned, I will now get behind all the lads and the manager, c'mon Stoke!!!! Me too tbf. Fair play for the last week cos I never saw it coming in a million years haha, shown we can compete with the better sides in the league. What I don’t get tho is all this point making/ I told you so crap. The criticism previously was fully justified, how can people be happy with losing most weeks? 100% agree I was convinced this week would be another chapter of horrors and likely the nail in his coffin , credit is due for an incredible change in fortune in a short space of time I can’t think of any example where it’s happened without changing the manager after such a prolonged poor spell

Probably because they recognised quite rightly that we have had a complete reset and therefore the players need time to gel. Equally most would also realise that we are more than likely going to lose more games in the future and won't be wetting their knickers like some when that happens.

I like how, on that clip, Neil seems to blend humbly into the pack rather that adopt the 'It's about me me me.' approach that many would. There's a dourness to our manager but there's also a level-headed, miserably business-like vibe about him that impresses me.

Magic week this has been. Makes you feel bloody fantastic, superb effort from a team no one ever expected AN to put out.
The squad should be bloody pleased with themselves
Go on Stoke!

Surprising lack of praise for the team and players on here tonight, compared to the last couple of games.
Hopefully everyone's just wasted and enjoying the great result and run we're on.

There seems to be a lack of wimmer / berahino / jesse type piss takers ? A lack of Powell baker, Clucas types , who are not as good as they think they are ?
Vidigal wes junior JT , Lowe , ,Junho, Gooch, Sidibe all look good to come on and get stuck in .
We seem to be lacking primadonnas ( about time !) and have motivated back up .
A magic week as mentioned above and some reasons to be cheerful

They know the divsion, have expereince to share, grounded and work hard. Pearson has an almost Keane type win at all costs mentality that probably needs reeling in occasionally be he's a passionate player. Campbell constantly talks to the players and mentors them. Now they also know each other a little better you can see they are communicating more when things go wrong. I get why people were frustrated but it's not a stretch of the imagination to see why it's taken time to gel this squad and he's put players around them to do just that. Good structure takes patience and perseverance for any manager. You have to keep believing and you have to remind people that's what you said all along so they have some patience next time. I think he's entitled to some 'I told you so'. If you can't take it then don't give it out so dramatically. Like someone else said he's a fighter you need that mentality in this game.

Off the Boro forum Neil had Carrick sussed last season and he did again this afternoon. The injuries haven't helped us but Stoke had their own absences yet were in our faces from the off and prevented us from the composed passing it out from the back, making us nervy and panicky. In the opening stages we kept giving the ball away and couldn't find a Red shirt for the Yellow shirts swarming all over us and intercepting passes. There are times when you need a plan B but we still kept passing it around and passing ourselves into pressure repeatedly in that opening spell. Going two goals down effectively meant job done for Stoke and we had nothing in our kitbag to unlock them with. Even with Hackney and McGree fit I don't think we would have won that because tactically the opposition Manager spanked us and we couldn't change things or mix it up. Neil done his homework and we couldn't counter it, changes needed to be made much earlier or at Half time as a minimum. Just hope we can shrug this off, move on and doesn't become the new norm. That's a good honest appraisal from them Boro fans, fair play to 'em, always thought they're a down to earth lot.

I’m a little worse for wear today but another cracking away day!
I took my lady’s brother in law with me who is a Newcastle season ticket holder. He said that he was really impressed with Stoke, said that we look a really good side & we’re comfortable against a side who had just won 7 in a row.
Couldn’t believe how many stokies were at Boro train station travelling up to Newcastle after the game. Had a great sing along with them on the platform.
The whole team turned up for us yesterday & we’re absolutely quality, Adam kept saying that our number 28 is top class. To be fair to Laurent he was brilliant yesterday but you can tell he doesn’t watch us often.
Get in Stoke!

As an exiled fan and not a boo boy I have been critical of his management in the previous games where we were languishing around the wrong end of the table but credit where it’s due the last three games have been a real tonic and fine performances. Some of the moves have been top class

I think to be fair today, after two very unexpected great results, the criticism of the team selection was way over the top. You would have thought he had earned a bit of repest beating Sunderland and Leeds. I also expect a similar reaction to the team selection or performance against Cardiff if we don't win. Even after the three wins there are still people criticising the omissions of Junior and Junho.

I am warming to AN and he has obviously had a really good week but I can sympathise with those who question the total omission of Junior and Junho ( ie on the bench for the entire game )
At the end of the day Hoever and Hask are not our players , Junior and Junho are . they are our players , they are good and they need to play to learn .
If you are 2 nil up , why not put them on for the last 20 mins , cuts down on tired legs in this game , injuries to everyone long term and gives our future a chance to improve now .
He has had a great week AN , but what harm would it do to have junior better prepared for a stevens injury ( he is 33 ?) , Junho better prepared for a Gayle injury ( he is 34?)
Hoever , Hask , Stevens , Gayle , wont be here next season . Junior and Junho will.

Totally get what you're saying and I agree with you really, all's I can think is 2 nil's a dangerous lead, there's always the possibility Boro get fired up enough and things drop for them and they get 2 late goals...if that happened after the young lads were introduced, even though it likely wouldn't be their fault, their confidence could be shot to bits...maybe that was AN's consideration. These young lads need careful management in their development, and I kinda feel that AN's going to choose the right times to introduce them. It's a long season, and I'm sure Junior and Junho will play their part in it.
