Funny how people see a game. It was thompson who kept giving the ball away for me and Gibson and Willmot did OK.........

Thought he had one of his better games last night Certainly well up for it in sharp contrast to the Stockport game How did he play first half? Not knocking him with this post as I had a new pair of glasses yesterday that are taking a bit of getting used to but I genuinely thought he only came on for the second half.

Hope he stays - best midfielder on the pitch last night, by some margin Seriously? He wasn’t even close to Thompson. I honestly thought he was deliberately hiding from the ball he showed for it that little. He also probably gets sent off if he has a tantrum like that in the league. I don’t think he was hiding. I think we’re asking two deep lying midfielders to do a job of advanced midfielders. Different game, different on the ball, hell they even move differently.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-josh-laurent-9486911Steven Schumacher wants to keep Josh Laurent as they head towards the end of a summer of speculation. There are still a couple of weeks remaining in the transfer window but Schumacher sees him as a big part of his plans, saying: “That’s never been any different. I had a conversation with Josh in pre-season and said he’d played every game for me last season when he was available. It shows that I rate him as a player. He brings something to this team. His physical attributes when he’s on it, he’s a really powerful player. When he’s at his best he’s one of the best in the division.

Which is why he’s a championship player That’s where we are atm So every player in this league has horrible inconsistency?... I agree mate. There is no reason why he shouldn't be at it every week as you see with the top players in our league. You sort of know from the first minute whether Laurent is going to have a shitter from his body language and that shouldn't be the case.

Which is why he’s a championship player That’s where we are atm So every player in this league has horrible inconsistency?... No but the consistent ones don't hit the heights required Or at least those that do are soon snapped up by Premier League clubs

Which is why he’s a championship player That’s where we are atm So every player in this league has horrible inconsistency?... No For many championship players, the next level up is too much, but they can be consistent at this level ( which means making plenty of mistakes) Others like Laurent, Baker … have the ability but not enough consistency to make the next step They don’t intend to be inconsistent, plenty of times their class shows Maybe he’ll benefit without the additional captaincy

Anyone think Schuey’s comments are an attempt to big him up to prospective buyers?

He’s played more good games under schuey than bad and the rest adverage hopefully under the manager who’s bugging him up he can increase the ratio of good even higher.

Can't help thinking he's not ideal for the system we are now playing, can be good on his day but too inconsistent and doesn't suit free flowing football.

Anyone think Schuey’s comments are an attempt to big him up to prospective buyers? Or he thinks he can make him a better more consistent player and wants to persevere with him. We can all see there is a really good player in him it's just getting him to show it more often. Putting the right players around him to demand more from him could release the beast
