He's athletic and has talent but I honestly don't think he's a good footballer. He makes poor decisions, switches off and seems to blame others for his shortcomings. |

He seems like a nice bloke, and has an occasional good game. But he is often anonymous, rarely scores, and seems a bit of a fanny in 50:50 challenges.
I would bite any club's hands off that offered £1m. He'd be on a good wedge and has only a year on his contract.
Still annoyed we let Campbell go tbh but supremely indifferent on this one.

We need to be careful. He seems like a big character in the dressing room and pretty well liked. We know all to well how quickly these things CAN turn. With Campbell going and everyone seemingly happy to see baker go, there’s basically Fielding and Wilmot who has been at the club over 12 months. I'll be surprised if Gibson isn't wearing the captains armband on the opening weekend. I don’t disagree but it’s more then just the captain who holds the dynamic together |

There's so little to be gained from keeping him on the books. If we have any ambitions of improving then we need players with more skill, consistency and commitment than Mr Laurent |

But you need at least so cohesion or someone who at least knows players names and get them interacting. I’m not advocating we keep him here either btw, I just think we need to be careful how we do it. It’s obvious he’s well liked behind the scenes and current he does offer something we don’t really have in CM (pace and power) even if it is 1 in 5 games. |

Well, his commitment won't be great if we let him run down his contract. It looks like I’m defending him on this thread and that’s not my intention. I’m totally not plussed by him, but we do need to be fair. Wasn’t he player of the season for reading the year before he signed for us (as a free agent having run his contract down). |

Is he suggesting something is imminent? Didn’t the same person suggest this in the last window as well? Laurent then went on to play many of the games in the second half of the season. |
