Saw his chance when he hit the bar yesterday. Didn’t realise it was him at first as his control and ability to make the space to get a shot away was great. Maybe he’s getting better coaching and thriving with better players around him?

How we miss the striker that *check notes* we never finished in the top half of the Championship with.

If Jacob Brown is the answer to our problems our problems are much bigger than even I thought they were!

Doughty was recovering from a long term injury. We never had the patience to give him the time to recover and such is the expectation here, we couldn’t give him the game time either.
He was, however, very clearly, always a better option than Josh fucking Tymon which makes it doubly frustrating.
MON did a very good job at Stoke given the circumstances in which he had to operate.

Brown over Maee, any day of the week 👍 Mmaee is pretty much better at most things. If the 'most things' list includes falling over, losing the ball, getting bullied by defenders, taking too long on the ball and not getting a decent shot off then yeah, he's 'achieving' all those things at the moment.

How we miss the striker that *check notes* we never finished in the top half of the Championship with. But, to be fair, we were never relegated with either. Having seen our attacking options this year that could yet be a new development.

Thought Doughty was great for us in the beginning, then just like Bidace, just stopped getting picked for seemingly no reason. Still don't know what DWP and Sidibe did to fade into oblivion as well either. Bidace got an injury

How we miss the striker that *check notes* we never finished in the top half of the Championship with. Sad that you're still grinding this axe, but expected. JB is head and shoulders over any of our 'attack minded' players we had on the pitch/bench yesterday. And he'd do a good job at right back. But you just keep slating him, and everyone else. Have you hit your quota of drivel yet for this year?

How we miss the striker that *check notes* we never finished in the top half of the Championship with. How we miss this defender that *check notes* we never finished in the top half of the Championship with (Collins). How we miss this goalkeeper that *check notes* we never finished in the top half of the Championship with (Gunn). It’s a very poorly put together argument.

If Jacob Brown is the answer to our problems our problems are much bigger than even I thought they were! He’s not. He worked best if you put the ball in front of him. Our players like to pass the ball behind our attacking line so they can fail at shielding it. Hopefully, SS can train that out of them.

Jacob scored 26 goals for Stoke in 2 seasons.
We haven't half brought in some rubbish to replace him.
Where are we now? 5 goals in the last 10 matches, that figure is for the whole team!

i haven't checked but at the end of this season I wouldn't be surprised if he has scored more goals in a season than anyone else here in the last 5 years. Sad,really. He also has 2 goals in the Premier league ,which is 2 more than any of our present squad will ever manage. Doesn’t change the fact that he’s a poor footballer and if he was still here we’d be in the exact same position, needing much better, as we were during his entire time at the club. How anyone could have watched him during his time here and now suddenly be thinking he’d be the answer is beyond me. Move on, we need a lot better than him if we’re to get anywhere in this league. I said the same thing myself about a month ago. But he still scored more goals for us than anyone else. It just shows that the first opportunity we had to spend money, we made a hash of it. Pearson's 4 year contract looks like a masterstroke. It's frightening to see that Jacob Brown scored the same number of goals for us this season , as 9 of our other goalscorers and that includes Campbell.

Some folk have short memories. JB was awful for Stoke, he’s really landed on his feet with the move to Luton. Not a single person would’ve predicted that move.

Seriously. Fucking fuckety fucking hell. Not entirely sure what your point is ? Brown was awful for Stoke? Relative to Fuller, Stein, Sheron etc? Perhaps. Relative to our recent forward stable? You’re talking bollocks.

I liked Brown and was as good as we had. Had an almost identical goalscoring and appearance record to Campbell but added more for me This won’t be a very popular opinion but I would have let Campbell go before Brown. Brown is less injury prone, he is a better team player and worked a hell of a lot harder than Ty. Campbell is luxury we can’t really afford just now. Not unpopular at all, I would have done the same. The fact is no one actually wants Campbell. He is the antithesis of Brown, allergic to hard work and far less intelligent a footballer. Possibly more talented, but without those attributes a much worse player overall.

Fuck me, we'd be a much better side with him in the team for sure Much derided by some for having a work ethic and somewhat limited skill. If he had both he wouldn’t have been at Championship Stoke. I thought he was good for us and as you say, I bet almost everyone who isn’t trying to save face would agree. Good luck to the lad, he’ll almost certainly be playing in the Championship next season unless a promoted club give him an opportunity.
