Have Stoke ever done that with a player? In front of a bottle kiln? Come on marketing team...😉😀

Good luck to the lad.
Wasn't the best ability wise but can't fault his effort.

I get the disappointment on the fee, the reports of 3m really got a few of us excited at a big profit from a pretty average season from Leris.
However, even just getting our money back is still decent business because it is quite evident we are shopping at a higher level this window.
Leris was an ok player at best, did a job and could cover a few positions, but the calibre of player we look to be after is on another level.
Good luck to the lad, I think Pisa are quite an ambitious outfit at the moment and are pushing for Serie A this season, I am just not sure Filippo is a good enough manager, unlike his brother.

Played well at times in games where it suited him. Good luck to him in Tuscany, but it's no Meir Park.

I liked him, prefer him to Gooch. However a slight profit and if we get Hoever or Azeez then it’s good business.
Having been to Pisa and a driving tour of Tuscany, I certainly know where I’d live.

As we've got back roughly what we paid for him, with one year's amortisation taken in to account, does that mean this will show as a slight profit on this season's books?

I am actually jealous of this move. A footballer earning money we could only dream of, plying his trade out there. Takes him up to almost 30, then have a plod around in the lower leagues in Europe, nice and easy. Quality of life must be insane.

He’s easily replaceable with a loan.
Gives us some more coppers to throw at the striker and CB positions

Nice one if the numbers spoken of are true. I’ve read somewhere the undisclosed fees thing we see now is following some sort of civil case where a club alleged the publishing of how much it bought or sold a player weakened their negotiating stance for future sales and purchases. Makes sense I suppose and I guess there would be no harm in publishing figures 12 months on. We accidentally published the Liam Lindsay fee and Barnsley complained as they said it allowed Brentford to pay less for Pinnock. Case dismissed as Brentford said they were so sophisticated at player trading nothing we had done would have influenced them.

We disagree, I much prefer Gooch. Tries hard and attempts a lot which inevitably results in things not coming off, but like Schuey I'd pick him regularly just to boost the effort in the side. Gooch is also more versatile than Lèris. If Lèris wants away, good luck to him. I want to see players prepared to bust a gut for Stoke.

Didn't Schumacher say we wouldn't give the green light until we'd got a suitable replacement sorted? Can we now assume we'll announce our own signing soon?

I wouldn't go that far tbh, he's obviously valued, contractually speaking, at around 1m. That's what we have paid and have sold. He's done ok here, not enough really to increase in value but his profile is still decent. Algeria international, plenty of experience in serie a and Inzaghi likes him, having had him at a previous club.
