Hold on 24 hours I’m sure Jared will want him up at Hull. He can bring Jojic too. Such a small stick with which to beat him, barely qualifies as a twig.

I will reply also to the edit; I'd sooner have an u21 defender in the squad than watching leris at RB. I've said it all summer, we needed a genuine RB and not rely on utility players to be one of the main 2. No manager/head coach is going to play a completely untested u21 right back (do we even have a right back in the 21s at the moment) over a player that has played plenty of games at right back in Serie A. It just doesn't happen. He didn't really cover RB in serie a, it was more for Morocco. Anyway, to answer your question, Gooch RB with Johnson or baker left mid, where they have played before.

More to the point, what has Leris got to do with what happens at LW. Sell the bugger now, regardless, he isn't needed...

Because if Gooch is busy playing left wing which looks likely based on the last two friendlies and the fact that Bae and Vidigal are injured, if Junior then gets injured, who does that leave to play right back? Gooch then has to move from the position he's played for the last two friendlies causing more disruption and we end up with DJ on the left. Absolute desperation time. When did Alex Neil play Lewis Baker on the left of a front 3?

Of course it's desperation time mate lol, half the squad are league one plodders and we are talking about which desperate option at LW is least shite... One centre back injury away from either a 16 year old playing or using Laurent there again. Baker played wide left, maybe not in a 4-3-3, maybe 4231, but has definitely been used wide left like Johnson.

Spoke to John Walters after the fans forum, he says Leris wants to leave, not much he can do when they are determined to leave....we'll see

Leris is never going to be a first choice pick and if it means we get a few bob to put towards a guaranteed starter, let the bugger go and quickly.

This is all one big if;
If they are are actually interested
If they are willing to spend 3m Euros which is currently 2.5m quid
If Leris wants to go there
What the fuck are we waiting for?
Get him gone.
We don’t need him for Saturday.
Take the money and run.
Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Yer never know how long it's going to take when you phone up for a medical appointment. He's still number 39 in the queue.

Their local press now saying 1m euros - 3m did seem a bit optimistic! www.lanazione.it/pisa/cronaca/lind-litalia-fa-bene-ai-danesi-speriamo-riporti-il-pisa-in-serie-a-d1887ad4In addition to Lind, Leris will also be in town to carry out medical visits. There is also important news about the player. Pisa will buy him out for a million euros, managing to secure, in recent days, a more advantageous agreement with Stoke City, who initially wanted three million. Between clauses and bonuses the company managed to spend much less than expected. He will join Pisa until 2027.

1M is still a small profit so well done Jared.
Sorry, I mean well done to the scouts and a massive thank you to Jared for sweeping up and making the tea...

It’s still perfectly acceptable for a player we had little use for who’s never going to hold down any position.

Must be possible to bring in a player like Bocat on the right side who can play in all the positions on the right, or at least a player with pace!

€3m always seemed bonkers €1m makes sense if he wants to go then we get our money back so fine but we will need someone who can play RB or RWB
Gooch is a winger or wingback but not an ideal fullback

He simply hasn't the pace in one on one situations which is needed in modern football. Leris is a right sided midfielder in a 4 4 2 system as I see it, and apart from that it's hard to find a position for him as long as we play 4 3 3. I'm happy we get our money back so we can spend them better elsewhere.

Sorry, I mean well done to the scouts and a massive thank you to Jared for sweeping up and making the tea... 😉 €1M is only an FFP profit in actual monetary terms it’s break even. People can speculate on profit forevermore… Only those at the club / accountants who are privy to the full details of transfer fees, contractual clauses, agent fees, signing on fees, “loyalty” payments, selling on clauses, etc. etc. can comment with any authority as to the level of any profit. The same applies to the reality of any supposed new transfer model, that some have suggested would be demonstrated by the Léris sale. There’s also VAT to take account of in player purchases, which seemingly wouldn’t apply to the Léris purchase. Don’t know to what extent quoted transfer fees on domestic transfers incorporate VAT paid? pi-accountancy.co.uk/2024/07/10/what-is-football-transfer-tax/#:~:text=Income%20Tax%20and%20National%20Insurance,incur%20a%2020%25%20VAT%20charge. It’s like buying a new car loaded with VAT. If you were to sell it on immediately, or at any point later, you don’t recover that VAT. Stoke obviously paid out huge amounts of VAT with those fantastic 🙂 domestic signings during the Rowett spending spree… never to be seen again.

I assumed it was €1m fee and €3m total package.
€2m over 3 years is €13.8k a week, which feels about right.

The negotiation team of Jonny Walters and John Coates. Fine giving it a try, but at least with a player that is actually half good. Leris was never worth 3 million

In a leaner squad that provides opportunities to youth players he doesn’t get in the team, so whether it’s €1m or €3m it’s better to have the funds redistributed and used than not.

Wonder if this is Hoever-related? www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-celtic-transfer-bosun-lawal-9473612"He trained with us yesterday and was due to be in the squad but we were told in the morning that the deal was closer. If it does get confirmed we wish him well because Mehdi is a great lad and he's done well for us. We wouldn't want to stand in his way." Stoke will only sanction the exit if they are happy with their plan for a replacement. Leris was a right winger by choice but had been playing at right-back through pre-season. Schumacher said: "Absolutely. We wouldn't be risking that if we didn't have someone lined up or we were working on something and we've got a plan. If he does go, can we fill those positions... which we feel as though we can. It's ongoing."
