How is it negative so say his stats haven't been very impressive for a 25 year old professional footballer? it's clearly making an opinion on facts.. I've also said I'm going to give him a chance and hope he proves me wrong. I'm not going to turn up to a game and hope he's shit. At no point have I mentioned your post or anything you've written. Wow some people are defensive! No you didn't but that's all people are saying that can be deemed "negative"...

You’d imagine this means we have given up agreeing terms with Colchester over Tchamadeu. Or maybe it’s a smokescreen to get them to accept our offer? Why does it mean that sorry? Because they appear to play In similar positions.

Yep. Isn’t this guy a winger who can also play centrally?

Mehdi Leris scouting reportHis data actually shows up like he's a much better full back / midfielder than he is a winger. Interestingly wins nearly everything in the air too. Could be a bit of a utility man that will work hard, reminds me a bit of Geoff Cameron.

Yep. Isn’t this guy a winger who can also play centrally? Played a lot as RWB by the looks of it, and seems to be good in the air, energetic, won the third most duels in Serie A etc Whereas he doesn't look particularly set up for a wide man in a 433? Who knows? No doubt all will become clear.

Yep. Isn’t this guy a winger who can also play centrally? Are you working for The Sentnull with Colchester right-back Junior Tchamadeu and Basel midfielder Wouter Burger but other targets have and could quickly emerge - like utility man Leris, who has two senior caps for Algeria, having made his debut in November 2022.
Seems Leris can push up to right midfield.

I hate the ‘he can cover a lot of positions’ Crap we have when we sign somebody. The very same crap that came out when we signed multiple crap players over the years.
That’s not me writing him off, but I’d rather sign players to play in the position we signed them for. And as for a wing back, I never want to see us play 5 at the back ever again in my lifetime.

Sounds more like we’re replacing Brown for a fraction of what we got for him to me but really who knows. Most of our rumoured targets seem pretty left field. I’m more than happy to judge the season on watching the home games. So far so good, been to two games and seen two wins and 6 goals. Not sure how many I saw at the ground last season but it wasn’t many. Saying as I miss attending quite a lot of games whilst out of the country it may well be more than I saw at the ground last season so my bar is set very low in terms of what would constitute a better season.

Hardly one to get the penis dripping, but if he can be a Danny Pugh/Geoff Cameron type then that's fine I suppose. Do we need another 'big' signing or do we think it'll be more just squad fillers/back up? Would suggest we need another decent/starting LB, midfielder and forward option.

Although his stats aren't fantastic it's worth noting Serie A is a level above the Championship.
Hopefully he'll be more effective and his figures more impressive here.

But last time we got promoted from this league we had 3 utility players. Delap (RM, CM, RB), Pugh (LB, LM, CM), Dominic Matteo (defence and midfield). Arguably 4 if you count Cresswell who played as a LM all year even though he was a forward.

IMO Brown was an awful footballer who didn’t link up well with other forwards thereby diminishing their effectiveness so the bloke really has to run about a lot which by the sounds of it is his main attribute. I’d be surprised if he’s worse technically than Brown.

I’ve always felt a bit sad for him that John Mahoney was on the bench at Wembley instead of him. Not that Josh didn’t deserve it.

I think we need and I think will make at least one more big signing, possibly Stewart late in the window, when he will be a few weeks closer to fitness. I expect Tymon and Campbell both to leave as well.

I thought Stoke Legend Eric Skeels was everywhere in the second leg of the semi at West Ham and, in spite of Banks' penalty save, was man of the match, but I suppose someone had to miss out in the final. Eric's contribution to SCFC should surely warrant a statue.

Does he sound a bit like elMohammedy, formerly of Sunderland and Hull and the key part of Steve Bruce's target man on the wing system?

There is a flight out of Genoa this afternoon to London, I wonder if he’s on it?! It is the same aircraft that took Kane to Munich and Endo to Liverpool so obviously there is links to agents and or Clubs.
