The Marassi is one of the most famous stadiums in Italy, and the oldest. A proper Derby too between them pair!

This is the kind of player we need, one who can play in a few positions, covering for any injuries.

I feel as if he might be one of our best buys this window, a player who likes to get amongst them and tackle hard. Looks 2 footed as well.

Don’t know a huge amount about Italian football but recognise the stadium from Italia 90. The tower type corner sections always stuck in mind. Think that Scotland played a game or two there and possibly lost to Costa Rica? According to that Wiki link there has been a couple of updates to the ground since the 1990 WC. www.stadiumguide.com/luigiferraris/

I thought Stoke Legend Eric Skeels was everywhere in the second leg of the semi at West Ham and, in spite of Banks' penalty save, was man of the match, but I suppose someone had to miss out in the final. Eric's contribution to SCFC should surely warrant a statue. If we keep building statues for all our legends there will be no car parking for miles around! The statue for TP deserves to be bigger than all the car parks for miles around. Especially as we need to park a few buses around it’s base.

Harry Winks played there last season for Sampdoria. I watched a fair bit of Italian football on BT sport the last couple of seasons, some of the stadiums are poor for a top division in a country like Italy.

I'm still giving this guy a chance in the hope he is our Riyad Mahrez 🤣. Mahrez was in French Ligue 2 and had a terrible return..look how he turned out.
There's been many cases of people plucked from one league where they seemingly struggled and then the flourished in another league. Never wise to write someone off until they have had a chance

Especially as we need to park a few buses around it’s base. Perhaps they should have tried that with the Thatcher statue. Very similar Marmite taste. Perhaps better not to erect statues of people that folk might want to throw shit at.

Not really Daft to expect players coming from abroad to hit the ground running, great when they do (like Videgal has) but by and large takes a few months before you see best of them same with players coming back from injury or young players am expecting inconsistent results until the clocks change Entertaining wins followed by poor performance/defeats for a while yet

A month or two if you believe in the player then you give him time to adjust to England Expecting goals from him in the Autumn

That’s the big decision. How long does AN wait to see if he improves? Ten games or so, would expect more by then 20%+ of a season. That’s maybe ok for a player that just isn’t providing the output but not a player that’s way off the pace.

That’s the big decision. How long does AN wait to see if he improves? Ten games or so, would expect more by then Sorry I didn’t see your reply above to another poster. So you wait nearly a quarter of the season starting him as the main striker? Surely Chiquinho is expecting starts as a loanee. Campbell will be back before then and Vidigal is performing at a higher level. Then there is the prospect of us splashing the cash on a consistent goalscorer.

He’s played two games March. Come on. He’s a mile off the pace how long do you suffer that before you take him out until he shows some sign of the intensity necessary in the championship? When you've invested the most of your budget thus far on him and he's playing in such a key position then you give him as much game time as you can. Anything else is just plain daft. Neil invested 1.5M in Emil Riis Jakobsen at Preston, a player from a more acclimatised league in Denmark (physicality etc) and a player who had played youth football in this country before (Derby County). He scored just 3 in 39 games in his first season, before hitting 20 in his second season. Yet here we have Stoke fans writing Mmaee off after two games and declaring tomorrow as a 'big game' for him?
