I’m biased as I’m a six fingered exile, but Leek town are back in the groove playing some cracking football. Two seasons of certain promotion cancelled by covid. A slight reshuffle of players and manager Neil Baker has left for Macc. If you fancy an alternative if Stoke are away etc, then get down to Harrison Park and you’ll be surprised at the standard of non league footy, and they usually score big at home and you can watch the match with a reasonably priced pint in hand and even take your dog🤣

Just on my way back from watching Congleton Town vs Loughborough students in the FA Vase.
3-1 Congleton.
Funny game.
Congleton deserved winners but very route one and clearly had a plan to kick shit out of the students who all looked about 12. But Loughborough stood up to it well on the whole. And it could have been tighter.
Former Stoke player Max McCarthy scored a very good goal for Congleton.
The mighty Sandbach beat Eccleshall 10-3 😳

Another win for Foley over Brereton Sports.
Looking bad for Stafford Rangers though this season. They've been close to relegation on a number of occasions but this season may finally catch up with them

Barnton v Crewe Alex tonight, Cheshire Senior Cup 2nd round.
I presume the league teams will normally play a reserve/youth team ?

They've just got a team coach, not a shit coach either a proper team coach with the tables tvs and even sign written it Kidsgrove looked like they were storming ahead in that league then have suddenly wobbled. Would be interesting to know where they have got the investment from because for a few years they were the whipping boys of that level escaping relegation narrowly a few times.

But I've found my supporting mojo again with Leek. Affordable, entertaining football with no ego. Beer on a terrace, watching lads give it all. Some excellent players too such as Dan Trickett-Smith. Please come watch a game. Two derbies at home coming up....Chasetown on Saturday and Newcastle Town on Boxing Day. Every supporter is appreciated. Fans and friends, not customers.

Hope so, but a long way to go. It's anyone's this year - there's no team like Macc and we seem to have hit some decent form, but anyone can beat anyone.

Its really tight at the top isn't it and Hanley seem to have picked up a bit. Hanley were 1-0 up and very decent against us, then lost the plot completely discipline-wise. Good thing for us is that because of our 4G we won't have games called off and can steal a march on others who do.

They were pushing to get 1000 in, and had catered for it, setting up extra tea points and bar stuff, I run from the club where they play, and the kitchen was overflowing with rolls and pies on Xmas eve morning.

After a change in manager at Stafford Rangers a few weeks ago, with former Nantwich Town manager Dave Cooke taking over from Matty Hill, The Rangers are finally starting to see some positive results.
Sitting bottom of the league before they beat Gainsborough on Boxing Day, they won 4-0 Infront of just over 750 fans, and yesterday they traveled to Matlock Town who sat top of the form table and came away with a 3-1 win. With Sean Cooke (Managers Son) scoring from 40 yards out. With the confidence of two wins on the bounce we host Basford on Saturday who sit one place above us.
Skip to 3mins 7 seconds for a screamer.

I was at Barnton v Alsager on Saturday, it survived the rain to start, Barnton down to 10 men after 20 minutes, Alsager down to 10 men on 90 minutes with the game still at 0-0, a 97th minute penalty to Barnton made it 1-0 with the referee blowing up for FT straight after, the last 10 minutes were played in almost monsoon conditions, soaked through when I got home.

Good to see, I watched them earlier in the season at Radcliffe and they were woeful. The fans were really on the players backs especially the keeper for some reason who was copping a load of abuse……
