Should be a real close game that could go any way, unfortunately with Stoke being at home I think that will put a huge dent in the crowd!

I went to Alsager yesterday.
It ended 3-2 with a last minute winner for Alsager.
The first half was really good, the second terrible.
I was standing with the away fans from Ashville for the first half (about 10 hardy souls) and they were proper funny. Half wanted them to play like Man City and the other half were adamant they weren’t good enough for that and what the fuck were the others on about. The second Alsager goal came from them overplaying so they had a very good point.

Away fans from Mossley bought a sound system into the bar after and had a party - these weren't young folk either. Players having a beer with each other and the fans after. It's like how football used to be. There's a lovely innocence and sense of community that's infectious. Walk through the turnstiles and you're seen as a mate, not a customer.

Same here, I was at Barnton v Stockport Town, chatting to the club officials, the new u7's girls team were mascots so a few new parents into watch the game, which was a tight game 6th v 2nd. Ended up 1-2 with a 95th minute penalty that no one knows what it was given for, poor refereeing all match, the ref seemed to buy all Stockport's girly screams and theatrics, which fortunately you don't see very often at that level. The 1874 v Leek game was called off the other week so I may make the rearranged game as it will probably be on a Tuesday night, if I'm not away with work.

I have a season ticket at Leek and this season the team is definitely not of the quality of recent seasons. Couple of steady players moved on or injured at the moment but the games I’ve seen apart from the Trafford game were poor. Defensively they were poor today and the difference was Kidsgrove took their chances whereas Leek didn’t . I’ve known Bake since his Cheadle United days and the heady days of the seventies when a load of us from Leek went in a mini bus to most away games. The performance today was a shadow of the performances of last season and Leek will not make the play offs this season unless a better quality of player is brought in and the new manager whoever that is gets the players tp perform to a much higher standard. HAve you got Liam Buckley playing at left back, he lives around the corner from me and was on Stoke's books until he was about 15? sorry it’s taken a while to reply, hardly logged on since this post. Yes he’s playing well. Leek’s fortunes on the up now, seven points clear at the top of the NPL West division. I wish I had gone to watch them at Nantwich yesterday instead of watching the shower of 💩we had to endure. If we are relegated at the end of this season that’s it for Stoke and me been going since the late sixties and thought I had seen it all with Stoke but obviously not. Its a breath of fresh air watching Leek compared to our underperforming and overpaid tossers.

To those apathetic towards Stoke who have never sampled non-league football I urge you to go and give it a go. Since Covid I’ve been to around 25 different clubs and it’s a breath of fresh air. £20 gets you in, pie, chips and peas and a pint, you feel part of the day and most importantly the standard of football is surprisingly good. Inverted full backs? Radcliffe FC have been successfully playing with them since August and they’re in the 7th tier of English football.
Sample a game, you won’t regret it……..

Sounds very appealing right now! My local team is Ashville, playing in the same league as Alsager

Watched Carnoustie Panmure beat Blairgowrie Saturday - we're miles off it this year and Blair are rubbish but still a decent enough watch.
On Sunday saw the wee lass for the lads win 5-2 with 3 of the goals absolute bangers - lad up front chested the ball down from the keepers kick about 40 yards out, let it bounce once then smashed it over the keeper!
Switched on Arsenal v Liverpool and fell asleep on the settee within 10 minutes.

Leicestershire Cup tie between Kirby Muxloe and Ingles FC from the United Counties and Midlands League respectively (tier 10 I think?).
2-1 to the visitors at half time, proper feisty affair Im Glad the away team are winning as the home team are the biggest bunch of moaning bastards I’ve heard for a long time.
Was originally going to the Hinckley RC v Anstey Nomads game but it was postponed last minute….

Finished 3-2 to the home team, injury time winner after they went down to 10 men with half an hour left.
Enjoyable game, roughly 100 there I would say…..

Leek showed everything Stoke don't last night. Bottle, heart, and a willingness to put bodies on the line.
Tremendous result.

My local team Radcliffe are averaging about 1,200 which is amazing considering it wasn’t that long ago they were playing in front of a couple of hundred max. They should be moving up to the National League North though barring disasters. Leek will have the Macclesfield derby back as well providing they don’t go up in the play offs…..

Meanwhile over here....
Worcester City top of the Hellenic Premier on goal difference (+14) with 4/ maybe 5 games in hand considering another midweek match called off tonight. A win against Stourport Swifts last Saturday in the FA Vase puts them now into the quarter finals against Emley, although with it being a local derby of such against Swifts it was marred by crowd trouble.
Good crowds at home & the promise of the holy grail of a new ground in the horizon albeit technically not in the boundary of City Of Worcester which might mean it getting passed by planners, unlike the anti football attitude of the city council which doesnt really give a sh*t about the Club!

Leek have traditionally over the years played at a higher level than what they are now so I dont think they will be out of their depth at all. On another note Stafford have gone to the dogs lately.
