I was at Newcastle Town v Stalybridge Celtic. I was attracted by the prospect of watching an away team who I'd actually heard of visiting the Lyme Valley Stadium! The game finished 3-4, but Castle were unlucky to lose. Ex Stokie and recent TV star Scott Wara scored a last minute winner. Stalybridge brought a noisy little band of followers with them, and there was plenty of needle during the game- players constantly at it and the managers offering each other on at one point. Newcastle look better than they have done for a few seasons. They might even manage a year of mid-table obscurity rather than the relegation scrambles they've been in for the last couple of years. I took my lad with me, who I tend to have to drag to Stoke matches to be honest. He loved it at Newcastle and wants to go again. Says something when Northern Premier League West Division games, the 8th tier of football, are more appealing than watching a Championship team. I’ve said before on this thread ground hopping is a joy and gets addictive. I’ll probably chuck in Stoke away’s next season to do more than I currently do. I strongly recommend a visit to Hednesford Town who are in the same league as ‘castle.

Went to Fylde to watch Leek (who I now work for).
Crikey, some money been put into that club, although by all accounts they aren't liked very much. You'll be reassured to know that officials are just as bad at that level. Fylde were 1-0 up and strolling at half time, but Leek battered them for the first 25 minutes of the second half and were denied the clearest penalty and red card you'll ever see at 1-2. Great mental for the equaliser.
Officials continued to give them everything, including a potential ball over the line (after one of the best saves I've seen) and the keeper handling outside the box but giving the free kick bizarrely to the home side. Their first looked miles offside, too.
A word for the stewards, who went miles OTT at times, with some looking to be antagonistic. I hope they have a rethink before a full away end ever visits them, liteally 90 minutes looking at the 300 away fans.
I'm buzzing about working with Leek - like so many local non-league clubs, every penny matters, and they really are grateful for every single person that goes through the turnstiles. Fans, not customers.
We play Nantwich at home tomorrow night - tenner for adults, £3 kids, great pies, good ales, and terracing......football how it used to be.

Never been to see them, was just that their marketing chap, Rob used to work at Stoke and always did us deals etc on hospitality if needed extra tickets etc so returned the favour

I was at Mickleover to see them make it eleven wins out of eleven in the league with a 2-0 victory v Royston Town. Eleven points clear now although on the downside they have played all the bottom 4 and none of the other teams at the top. Royston were sixth yesterday and did have a man sent off just before half time for a professional foul which the linesman thought was a penalty but the ref overruled and gave a free kick on the edge of the box. As the foul resulted in Mickelover's only fit striker going to hospital there could be no complaints from Royston (although there were) and they had another player sent off after the final whistle. I didn't see what for but I imagine dissent.
Amazing crowd - Mickelover's average is about 200 but yesterday there were 7900 (not many from Royston either) so perhaps the people of Derby are starting to take note.

Went to Witton v Clitheroe. Really enjoyable game in swirling conditions. Game of two halves, Witton dominated first half with Tom Pope scoring a cracking team goal, but second half Clitheroe pinned them back and a last minute wonder strike gave them the pints. About 450 there including 28 Clitheroe fans (my son counted them). Great little non-league ground, shame it’s stuck on an industrial estate on the edge of town………. Witton and Northwichs old ground used to be in the town. Witton sold up to sainsburys and moved to there current home. As for Northwich, they also sold the Drill field, moved to the opposite side of the river to Witton, got kicked out, owner was dodgy, new ground got demolished and the club split into two, Northwich Vics and 1874 Northwich. Both teams groundshare with other clubs, ironically the Vics share with Witton. They need to get there act together and join forces and their own ground and start again. Shame as they were one of the top non league teams like stafford in the 80s. Canal, not river 😉 Vics are moving to Winsford next season as Witton have asked them to move. 1874 are tenants at my local lot in Barnton, too big really, parking is a problem I agree, all 3 teams should join forces, we were saying that at the game I was at yesterday

Stunning little ground that is, unfortunately that's where all the superlatives end for that club! No class what so ever off the field! The officials were bloody awful, those decisions would have gone for Leek on any other day with any other officials! But what a mental to draw level! Superb!!

I went Hanley v Northwich. Cracking game with Hanley running out 4-2 winners. Luke Walsh excellent. Scored 2, quick and technically very good. Saul Shotton a bit of a beast in the midfield. A real presence and can play too. £10 so top value 👍🏽 £5 if you show your Stoke season card at the turnstile.

Hope the club do well, pal. I miss going to 'El Staffico' with my old man, who is an on/off Rangers season ticket holder - I went to one Stafford Rangers v Hednesford game when there were nearly 2,000 at Marston Road, as opposed to the current average crowd of 500 to 700 for home games, and the atmosphere was great. Would be good to see it on again.

I went to see Stafford Rangers away at Guiseley yesterday, as I can walk to their ground (Nethermoor) from my house. Rangers lost 4-0 last season in the same fixture, but yesterday managed to lose only 2-0! First half I thought both teams were poor, Guiseley scoring late on. Rangers conceded a second about 10 seconds into the second half, and had the odd chance thereafter. but never really looked like scoring. Spent the second half sat in the sunshine in the stand chatting to Rangers supporters, very pleasant. Crowd was 641, £12 for adults to get in.

Went to the pre season game at your place an was a great gesture to give us half the gate money.i think we are a good few seasons away from getting back to even a league higher and that depends on finding an owner.weve found it very tough in the North West league,we probably would have been more suited to the mids league as the physicality of this league is giving us alot of problems. Hopefully the El Staffico will be back as a league game soon.

I took my uncle out for his 89th birthday on Saturday, he's from Leek and after I mentioned a lad who lives around the corner from me, Liam Buckley plays for Leek, he was telling me about how he used to go out for nights out, meals etc with Geoff Harrison, I didn't realise that the ground was named after someone, my uncle used to be part owner of an electrical/TV shop in Leek, Smith Bainbridge and Wardle so would have been part of the local business men group.

Just back from Vauxhall Motors where Leek scored a last minute equaliser in as bad a 3-3 as you'll ever see. Home side launched it from minute one and Leek allowed ourselves to be dragged into a game of second balls and appealing to the ref.
But a kate away equaliser feels like a win.
