Hednesford fan,was at the game an you wouldn't have known the lad wasn't a keeper or that 1874 were down to 10 men.terrible game an you can see why, unless as it stands hednesford do get the reprieve, that both teams are going down. Hednesford were terrible, again, and Paul Moore has done very little so far to win over the Hednesford fans.might be a trip back up to northwich next season to face the vics.massive game at home to vauxhall tomorrow night for us. What league might Hednesford be in next season? Could be The Midland Football League I think. Congleton and Lichfield are currently vying for promotion out of that League.

If we go down it will be the midland football league.last nights draw with vauxhall has killed off any chance of us staying up from league positions, our run in is terrible ,starting with leek on Saturday. As it stands we are still in the 2 places for clubs that will get a reprieve to stay at this level, but again I think with the fixtures we have and probably needing another 4 points atleast, which is very doubtful, it will he relegation .followed hednesford since 1990 and next season will be the lowest I've seen them play at.

Turned up to our running club to open up last night (at the football ground) but it was already open and someone asked me if I was Hanley Towns kit man, charming ! Turns out they'd got a late rearranged fixture and forgot to tell us, 1874 Northwich 0 - 1 Hanley Town, another early goal conceded on 5 minutes like on Saturday. Stafford Rangers 1 -3 Macclesfield last night as well, Stafford not looking good now 6 points from safety. Stafford looked doomed to me. They've improved since I saw them live at Radcliffe but they were such a limited side it was ridiculous..........

Macclesfield simply passed through them & Rangers couldn't cope 1st half. Better 2nd half. Got a goal back and came close a couple of times. May have been interesting if they'd have taken one of the chances. Looking at them, they need a minor miracle to stay up but still doable.

When I saw them earlier in the season they were the most one dimensional team I've seen in a long time. They literally just launched the ball aimlessly to the number 9 (Blissett) and just tried to pick up the scraps. They were like a poor version of John Beck's Cambridge......

To be honest stafford have avoided the drop a few times in recent years due to covid and other teams going under.
Shame really as ive enjoyed a few games at marsden road.

The NPL West looks like being very competitive next season if the likes of Congleton, Stafford, and Bury will be in it.

It certainly does look competitive and I am sure Bury will be spending big to go straight up!

From what I saw last night, they did try to play wider at times although weren't scared to hoof it up when needed. They just didn't look anywhere near as good as Macclesfield who I felt could have gone up a few more gears but didn't really need to.

As a Stafford fan as well I think it’s a done deal now that we will be relegated, it’s a shame after two good seasons under Matty Hill, 8th and then 12th last season, he recruited poorly in pre season and the football was awful, as soon as we lost Tom Tonks long throws and goals in the summer we have looked well short ever since, we failed to sign another centre back leaving us with one fit full back until February. Cooke has come in and improved us slightly but it’s all to late.
Hopefully Cooke stays for next season and he can rebuild the squad and get us challenging next season. We are a well supported club for this level, we get around 580 every home game which considering we have been bottom two most of the season is really good, if we get a side challenging we get around 1000. So like I say fingers crossed he builds a competitive side that is challenging and the crowds will come.

I would agree, it came out at the start of last month that the ex Crewe keeper Ben Garratt was training and wanted to sign, but it was said that he would play if we had injury’s. Baffling that you don’t put an ex football league keeper straight in. Think he then signed for Nantwich.

Stafford are a National League North sized club really, you're massively underachieving if you'd get relegated this season. Looking certain now though sadly.

Check out your local non-league team today folks, a lot are only charging £5 entrance as part of Non-League Day.
I’m off to Radcliffe v Ashton (weather permitting) where there should be a crowd of around 1,500…..

I keep on getting an itch for a bit of non league football.
Watching Stoke the past few seasons has bored me. It feels like every opposition manager who comes to Stoke instructs their team to go down at every opportunity which the ref tends to buy every time.
I watched a league 2 game last week & there were tackles flying in all over the place & the ref let the game flow… I sat there thinking if this was the championship/prem then there would have been 45 stoppages & probably 4 red cards by now.
Overall I just want to watch a game of football but the question is where would I go to? The lads at work watch a lot of Congleton town & say that it’s great & the club are doing well but I suppose with me being a stoke lad Hanley town would be my closest.

Just when it looks like Stafford Rangers are done they pull another win out of the bag, 2-0 win away at Bamber Bridge today. Back to three points from safety with 6 games left.

Yes, a great result, but as the saying goes, it's the hope that kills you. They've currently got a game in hand on Bradford Park Avenue but Atherton Collieries have a game in hand on them. I so hope that they manage to stay up but they could play well and still go down if Basford and Bradford both string a run of half decent games together. Great attendance at Hednesford v Leek today - over 1,400 there.

I should have been going to Radcliffe but ended up going to FC United v Basford. 2-0 and Basford were absolutely woeful in the final third so Stafford Rangers have definitely got a good chance…..

I have everything crossed for Stafford mate, not only for my selfish self and a local derby next season but as long as I can remember Stafford have always been in the upper reaches of non league!

I really hope so, we keep pulling the odd result out of the bag that keeps us in touch. We need to win 4 of the last 6 to give us a chance, which is a big big ask, but you never know. I watched Stafford vs Leek in pre season and you could see then just how strong Leek were. You guys deserve your promotion after coming close so many times.

I went Curzon Ashton v Banbury yesterday, national league north. Only £8 to get in if you have a £10 membership (which they sent me for nothing for some reason). Nice new(ish) build ground, which you can park next to for nothing. Good game in poor weather and Curzon played some nice stuff and scored three good goals in a 4-1 win. Might return again soon if they’re involved in the play offs.

I noticed after recent sendings off 1874 Northwich had a 16 year old make his debut away at Trafford, did well apparently in a 2 all draw, their first point in quite a few games.

I think the players didn't like Dundas from what I was told and he left last week, they lacked the cutting edge yesterday, looks like they've lost a few player at least from the last time I went to watch.

They seem to play in an easy league and tbh I wasn’t that impressed with them when I went to watch. Cracking ground and following they have though.

I'm up in Middlesbrough with work so I'm going to go to the Whitby Town v FC United game tonight rather than site in the hotel and drink 6 pints on my own.
Been past the ground many times but never in it so looking forward to it......
