I’ve already got one on the wall in my office. With the Queen Elizabeth II on another. Union flag backdrop of course Sounds perfect Badge. Nothing wrong with being proud of your country. Beats a virtue signalling Palestinian flag any day of the week. Oh yes..so stick up a picture of the UK's biggest grifter. Outstanding.

So you think a 1.2% increase to NI contributions on pay above the threshold will lead to mass redundancies!? If 1.2% makes that much difference I suspect they were going to be letting that employee go anyway! seems to be a few charities , GP's , dentists etc kicking off today , ..... are they suggesting job losses (possible consequence) or just saying they will have fewer outlets etc , don't know . small construction company i know has forecast extra £40k a year increase in salary costs , another bloke i know might be better off by £60 a month . costs will be passed onto customers ( + markup % presumably ) therefore inflation going to go up down the line . just thought , why is this on the immigration thread ?
People will always complain after a budget. No idea why it is on the immigration thread. No idea why terrorism charges brought against a British born man is on here either. But right wing people on this board (and generally) blame immigrants for all their problems. That may explain it.

But right wing people on this board (and generally) blame immigrants for all their problems. That may explain it. The vast majority of people in the UK don’t seem to be grumbling about the budget. Quite to the contrary - the Tory press and right wingers seem to be doing the most moaning as they’ve suddenly found themselves having to pay their fair state of tax.

The people being the massed ranks of public school educated stockbrokers and those with such a massive inferiority complex they have to have a public school educated stockbroker as their leader rather than one of their own? You think Keir Stalin is one of us do you?...okay 😏 Depends who "us" is supposed to be. If "middle class" yes. If "working class" no. I'm not the one claiming Farage is a "man of the people". I'm just pointing out the absurdity of the claim that he is. I've not claimed anything about Starmer. I'm not a Labour supporter so I'm not even sure what point you are making. And just to be clear I do think a large section of the working class are completely lacking in self confidence, continually defer to the upper classes and for some bizarre reason see them as their natural leaders - Farage being a case in point. At least the middle class have recognised that Starmer is one of their own and have got him in to represent them. The working class adopting Farage as their representative is just bizarre. Lee Anderson would be a way better choice.

I don't get the problem I thought we'd already established this week that he's a grafter? He's setting a fine example, working more than one job, bringing home the bacon, paying his taxes and on top of all that doing his public duty and being a voice for Badger and the likes. Why the disrespect, I'm not sure. If anybody deserves a bit of a gift as a thank you for all their hard work then I'm certain it's s Big Nige.

The operative word there I'd have thought would be earned and not gifted maybe? Yes, but mps shouldn’t be allowed a second job. Their constituency deserves their full time attention. My wife would be sacked from the civil service for if she had a second job. Most jobs have contracts setting out that this must be their main job. Why do MPs get treated differently, and we pay their wages! He should serve his own public and not himself. Anyway, wrong thread for this.

Yes he's doing more than one job but is he actually doing the job he was elected to do? And if he is, is he providing value for money to his constituents in that role? If he was an MP in Stoke, would you still suggest 'he's setting a fine example'? It's not like this is anything new, he did exactly the same thing when he was an MEP.

It's refreshing that he's in high demand, his constituents should be pleased that he can represent them across a wide range of forums and opportunities that a run of the mill MP like Snell wouldn't. Again don't hate the player, hate the game.

So to be absolutely clear, if Farage was currently an MP in Stoke, you'd feel he was currently giving his constituents good value for money at the moment?
