It’s funny that those from outside of Stoke love to see these people housed here. I literally replied to one of your posts and said that there are too many asylum seekers in Stoke-on-Trent and that other parts of the country should take their fair share to relieve the pressure. You're not arguing on the grounds of local economics or the strain on local services though, you're saying ideologically they shouldn't be here full stop. I live in Manchester, like Stoke as well as Birmingham and Glasgow it is one of the areas housing a disproportionate amount of asylum seekers because of the cheap inner city housing available.........

Maybe the answers to focus on looking at why people are leaving Albania in the first place, surely this calls for other countries to support their government by what ever means necessary to stop them leaving in there droves because right now it’s very much one way and their country needs to make Albania into a place where those born and bred in the country want to live and not leave at the first opportunity.
They’re not at war so surely that must put them down the pecking order in relation to being supported like those from the Ukraine or Afghanistan who are in more desperate need of help.
Right now it doesn’t feel like there’s any accountability on the Albanian government to sort their problems out whether it’s crime or welfare which is driving there people out.
I’m sure they’re happy for other countries to take the slack but shouldn’t they try harder to keep their people happier and if not be held accountable and be made to contribute financially to those countries that are supporting them by housing their people.

Our new Swedish government have declared our maximum immigrant number in 2023 will be 900 people. This might lead to a negative number since some will leave this climate. What will England land on? You're a lucky guy Musik. An actual right of centre government, beautiful country, hot women, great nightlife, no lockdowns... What's not to like? 😊 Strange noises in the laundry room

Dunno about everyone else but I'm sick to death of these stinking Albanians coming over here and stealing our drug trafficking jobs. Boils my piss! Ha ha. Interesting how things have changed. Down my way back in the 80s and 90s main drug dealer networks were run by Scousers. It has since moved onto Ethiopians, London gangs and is now getting a sprinkling of Eastern European as the orchestrators. Amazing how it moves around from one group to another, but the most worrying thing is the sheer level of violence which is the norm now with revenge attacks on dealers and zero tolerance for anyone who wants to get involved in that kind of business.

You laugh but while we were in the Prem i knew 2 Mexican lads who were season ticket holders. One of them dad had been a student at keele in the 70’s and gone to games and raised his son as a Montteray and Stoke fan, so while he was at keele he had a season ticket. Who knows they could have been scouts for el chapo

It has been mentioned. But do you know who told them and why? Britannia Hotels told them to leave because Serco (contractor to the Home Office) offered to buy up all 88 rooms. Look further and it's what Serco and Britannia do up and down the country on a regular basis - fill Britannia Hotels at the taxpayers expense with asylum seekers. The asylum seekers don't get to choose their hotel - they get sent to where private operators can get the biggest bang for their buck with your an my money. Great business if you can get it. Note 1. Serco was fined nearly £23 million as part of a settlement with the Serious Fraud Office over an electronic tagging contract with the Ministry of Justice where they were accused of charging the government for electronically monitoring people who were either dead, in jail or had left the country. They have nevertheless continued to be awarded contracts by the Home Office and Department of Health - including for the disasterous Test and Trace Note 2 Edward Argar MP - a minister in the department of Justice is former Head of Communications for Serco Note 3 Alex Langsam - CEO of Britannia Hotels is a Tory Donor

War? Nope, Famine? Nah.

War? Nope, Famine? Nah. Albanians shouldn't be classed as asylum seekers, which as I understand from the definitions shared on here, are refugees without the rights (yet) to remain in the UK. I agree that there are other nationalities far more deserving that should be made a priority, and that Albanians shouldn't even be considered for Asylum.

In any case the 'Albanians' coming here by dingy are not asylum seekers. They just get to stay here because the Tory government doesn't have a clue what to do with them and the traffickers are taking the piss out of the system. Eventually the government just gives up and they get in somehow. The measures in place aren't strict enough or enforced enough.

Nothing so interesting, my mum used to have a brass bull with a Matadors sword in its back and when I was a kid I would play with it. My name is Matt so I was a little Matador and it stuck as I got older so I used it as my gaming tag and added it on here. That and the fact I used to kill for the columbian cartels every other Wednesday whist carrying a red cape

Wouldn’t be the first time Well what was said in the media last week was probably wrong. Until last Friday there was an injunction taken out by SOT council preventing the Serco/Britannia deal going ahead and the last report I read was that asylum seekers 'could begin arriving within days'. Not sure how the media knew the nationalities of people who weren't even there.

Quite - however 86% of Albanians granted asylum so far are women who are victims of sex trafficking. If - however - we managed to process more than 4% of applications per annum then we might find that a number of the remaining 96% get sent back to their contry of origin. And that may or may not include Albania. If they do then they might start to think again about coming in the first place. However I rather suspect the current govt have no desire to solve the issue - it makes money for cronies and it provides a scapegoat for society's and a tabloid distraction away from serial incompetence ills. What's not to like.
