Back onto the thread. What team from London do you like the most? I must say Queens Park Rangers. It must be the blue horizontal lines, it's a bit different. And the pronounciation of them as a team. All these clubs comes from different locations in London. Where is it a mess? Who are the nastiest fans? Millwall have a reputation for not being overly welcoming, been there a few times, a section of their fans are/were horrible, I'd say West Ham were next 'horribilist' just my experience. My favourite London team if I was absolutely forced into having one would be Chelsea, a team my Dad managed played in the same kit and I got the kit for Xmas once.

The company I worked for had season tickets there for a couple of seasons whilst Tigana was there. Nice club and not as arrogant as some of the others.

Weed should have been legalised years ago. I agree. It was legalised medically nearly 4 years ago in the UK but there hasn't been much media coverage and apparently 84% of the general public don't know about it.

Any London experts advise a good place to stay for easy access to Central London by overland/underground and Tilbury Docks by car?
I'm going to be spending 8/10 weeks down there on a new project at work and looking at the map I think maybe Greenwich would be ideal (I can use the Wooolwich Ferry/Blackwall Tunnel to get from my hotel to Tilbury).

Listening to people on the radio who've been in the queue (nearly 4 miles long now) to pay their respects it seems the organisation has been first class.
Hundreds of portaloos put in place and loads of volunteers acting as stewards helping to keep things orderly.
They all seem full of praise for the whole effort, I haven't heard a single complaint so far.

Don't know that area of well but from local london traffic news its generally severe delays at the Blackwall Tunnel mentioned quite regularly and the Woolwich Ferry is not operating today is also quite frequent. Depends what time you are travelling of course if you are going well outside of anything considered rush hour you'll probably. be fine Trains I think Sarfend ones go there from Fenchurch street, dont think tubes go that far.

Mate I think staying in Greenwich is ultimately going to cause you problems, with it being the wrong side of the river for both of your intended destinations.
If it was me, I'd seriously consider ditching the car.
And find a hotel within walking distance of the c2c line.
That would leave you looking at (and depending how close you would rather be to town and to work, for example 40 mins to Victoria, 20 mins to Tilbury if you were to stay in, say, Barking):
Canary Wharf Bromley By Bow Poplar Canning Town Plaistow Barking Dagenham Hornchurch Upminster Lakeside

They are as close to a 2nd team as I can manage…in that, if they are on the channel I’m currently looking at, I’ll be marginally less likely to turn it over.

Cheers mate, I've just had a rough itinerary sent to me and it looks like on average I'll need to go into central London once a week and Tilbury 3 times a week when I'm down there so I'll probably look to stay around Purfleet/Thurrock so I'm just off the M25 and in close proximity to both offices by either by rail/car. Was trying to avoid that area as I find quite depressing to be honest but I'll be working long hours so my wet dream of having a stroll into Greenwich on an evening wouldn't have materialised anyway

Mark Stein went there and he was lovely to me when I was a wee'un. Also met Dennis Wise after a game once and he was great with kids too. The Zola/di Matteo era left me with some fondness.

My son and I have season tickets and it’s great just to be watching football with him. Brentford used to be his second (local)team when we were in the Premier league, but roles are now reversed. I’ll be at QPR Saturday and Brentford Sunday.

Unless it's a euro 6 engine, you'll be paying an extra £15 per day just to start the engine. Then factor in parking. Anything above 6 hours in zone 1/2 and you're looking at excess of £40 for the day in an NCP. There are others that are cheaper, but they're getting rarer, and people block book in advance. Check out parkopedia for the areas that are of possible work interest. The blackwall tunnel everyday from 7am-10am / 4.30pm/7.30pm is a nightmare.

I wouldn't fancy stopping and searching him......perhaps the Police should stop doing so for their own safety.....🤔...if that's what the public want. Let "them" get on with it.

You know what Bigjohn, I keep noticing things like a common theme thats been happening over the last 60 odd years and I can't quite put my finger on it... hmmm But when I speak out about noticing these common themes it seems to shut down the conversation... Maybe it's just me .... Ah well guess I'm just mistaken

For me , possibly the greatest city in the world....not that I've been to many!....so one of the greatest....but for some of the victims and perpetrators of crime it isn't the best.....and ok, so other places have their problems....I don't particularly like Birmingham.
Part of the answer has got to come from within the communities themselves.

There needs to be less politicising and more sorting out the route cause in relation to why is it happening. There’s no single reason. Lots of different factors. - social media. - to much extremist views. - Not enough being done in the communities. - Sentences are too low. - Family dynamics breaking down. - Gangs. - Parents not taking enough responsibility. - Poor role models. - Kids being out of education.

Surprised alcohol is so low if I'm honest, does that include people who've injured themselves as a result of their actions under the influence or is it purely focused on the actual harm the individual has suffered due to the taking of the drug? If there had never been cannabis prohibition there (quite obviously) would have been no call for synthetic cannabis, just like alcohol prohibition and moonshine. Have you seen the data Dr Nutt got sacked for?
