It's becoming a no go place. Drastic changes need to be made starting with that idiot Khan being made to resign.

I hate the place. Its my least favourite place to visit in the UK. Would rather do a week in Barrow than a week in London.

My daughter lives and works in London, I insist that when she’s out with friends regardless of the time she rings saying she’s home, otherwise I can’t get to sleep.

You’ve done it now Cobs, the mob will be along soon defending Khan Biggest problem is that the people that can actually do something about the issues Govt, councils,Police etc are so scared of being accused by the vocal minority that they won't do anything to address the problems whether it's stop and search, putting more money into Law and Order, social services or community work. It's a mess and something drastic needs to change. There's been a real increase recently in these large groups "rushing" shops. I'm sure it wont take long for it to work its way out to the suburbs. The government and Theresa May in particular and Mayor Khan are equally responsible for this mess for different reasons.

Stop and search is clearly needed to be upscaled in certain areas all over the country based on statistical analysis of violence using weapons.

I believe it’s the flag of Eritrea, some coffee comes from there but putting two and two together with Islington it must be some protest about Soy Latte standards😉

Former BBC journalist and African specialist Martin Plaut earlier advertised a protest outside the Eritrean Embassy, condemning Eritrea's occupation of the Tigray region in the north of the country."

Reform on the laws relating to drugs would solve more in my opinion. You can't stop and search every person in the city every day, especially with the funding the police receive these days. Most of the violence is gang related and money/drug motivated too. The war on drugs doesn't work and hasn't worked. De criminalise and legalise the different drugs and you take away the fuel which gives these gangs the power they have.

One of the greatest cities in the world. It has it’s challenges around gang related crime of course but this is scaremongering nonsense. It even rates fairly highly (14th in 2022) as one of the worlds safest cities to visit as a tourist……

The likes of Walthamstow, New Cross, Balham, White City, East Ham, Islington , Croydon etc. You really wouldn’t go there after dark. I doubt the tourists would be queuing up to go there. Londons such a beautiful city in the square mile but the further you go out the worse it gets.

De criminalise and legalise the different drugs and you take away the fuel which gives these gangs the power they have. I don't know about the UK, but hand on heart THAT wouldn't work in Sweden, that's for sure ... and for several reasons. The criminal gangs would be just as powerful and rich if not even more, since then they are selling the shit just as before, but now legally. They would be able to advertise the shit as well. And IF (which wouldn't happen) "the fuel" as you call it was "taken away" (which wouldn't be the result), but anyway, let's play with the thought ... Then they simply would CHANGE fuel! At least here in Sweden. The consequences are too minor. Change fuel to what? Kidnappings, threat, stealing, murdering for money et cetera. Why? Since MONEY is the goal. And that's their way of Living; increasing the money base in some way. Not the drugs in themselves. Therefore Sweden won't change policy. I have a friend in the Philipines. The Duterte guy is a funny character.

Alot of countries have seen a reduction in crime and gang related activity through decriminalizing/legalising cannabis and also providing safe spaces for addicts of harder drugs to have them checked and to take them in a safe clean environment. In the UK alot of people involved in gangs usually smoke and sell a bit of weed and slowly work their way up the ladder. The money to be earned through dealing as well as the access to drugs are some of the main pull factors which lead people to slowly be enticed into these gangs. Countries which have taken steps to decriminalize drugs have usually seen a reduction in crime.

Yep basically but it’s still classed as London. It’s not just the square mile. news.sky.com/story/amp/croydon-this-has-to-stop-community-unites-to-rid-itself-of-being-londons-knife-crime-capital-12521069There were 5 teenagers murdered in Croydon last year. I’d say that’s slightly worrying.

It’s tragic of course it is. There are just shy of 400,000 residents in the borough of Croydon though, so as I say it has its crime related issues but all this talk of no go areas is silly…….

Just spent 3 days in Paris a couple of weeks back, we walked for miles day and night and had a great time and there was no problems whatsoever……. I've spent around a week in total in London over the past few months, walked for miles in various different parts, only 'aggro' I encountered was Wetherspoons in the Elephant and Castle, two old blokes after a couple of pints having a heated discussion over something that was never going to affect them, whilst their three or four mates looked on like they were bored shitless with it. Probably happened every day
