No way will he be sacked...this season we'll just go through the motions, finish about 17th then a new manager next summer when his contracts up.. playing with fire in the hope there will be 3 worse teams than us to save us paying him up, a calculated gamble but I've already got my head around the fact that this is a bit of a nothing season. Yea I’m writing it off (and it’s only bloody Aug) he’ll cling on with a win every 5 games A win every 5 games over a 46 game season would leave us on 9 wins = 27 points then add any draws on that’s relegation to league one hope you are wrong but as history show’s the owners aren’t quick to make a change just look at the whole Mad Nath saga we were cut adrift at the bottom of the league before they acted.

Not soon enough - today is too late ! The Board will delay as usual but after our abysmal start he needs to win in the next three games or so. I think ultimately it's going to be up to the fans reaction in the stadium if things continue as they are at the moment. Imagine waiting until next Summer and then the great saviour is Tony bloody Mowbray That would be like giving up celibacy to sling one up Susan Boyle

I genuinely think he will be given the season given the injuries. The only caveat to that would be if we were in serious trouble re relegation at Xmas.
That said if he doesn’t finish top 8 minimum they will release him at season end.

Watched Barcelona play last night (on the telly). They played 3/5 at the back, goalie passes to defender/wingback who passes it sideways and then it goes backwards and then sideways and then back to the goalie who hoofed it out for a throw in to the opposition. Just like Stoke play, building out from the back. Difference is that when wingbacks are stifled they get the ball to the midfield, and they knew exactly what do with it. I'm sure he will have watched them play, convince the Board that he is doing it the right way and he's not far off getting it spot on and be here until the death of the season.

Should've gone a long time ago but recent history shows the Coates's to be procrastinators of the highest order. theonlooker is likely right. Oh plus the family also seem to also have a history of being simply too matey with the individuals they employ when running the club as a business requires a more hardline approach if success is to be achieved.

He will limp on until Christmas.
There will be a raft of managerial changes this season around the world cup.

If we limp on until Christmas on this form we will be firmly in the bottom three and most of that raft of managerial candidates will avoid us like the plague.

Reckon if he's moved on it'll be upstairs/backroom and Holden will take the reigns.

After limping to another 14th place finish, I wouldn’t be surprised if he got rewarded with another 2 years.

If they're signing matt Clarke then they are all out backing him for the season so the discussion here is effectively over
Clarke will cost a couple of million at least

Does anyone actually think that if he lasts the season (and we don't get relegated) that the board will get rid of him?
Their logic will be, he's done well with no money to spend. So now we can spend, so we'll get rid of MON and find someone new. Of course not.
He's been setting it up for two years that the reason he's not pushed us on is he's been financially constrained. Our board would be dumb enough to buy into that and would "finally" give him money to spend, so he'll need a new contract to spend said monies.

Frustratingly, its not going to be any time soon. You'd think Man City would have asked similar questions in terms of stability for their £15m rated asset and been given assurances Personally think bottom 3 at Christmas would be unforgiveable. Unless he loses the fans beforehand If Manchester City have even the slightest input as to when we change our manager then I’ve finished with football for good

Rowett didn't survive the poor showing at Shrewsbury in the FA Cup & that was the match when the crowd who had already started the discontent & anger towards Rowett previously, personally started to mention Scholes and the Board & they reacted by dismissing him shortly afterwards.

Reckon if he's moved on it'll be upstairs/backroom and Holden will take the reigns. The obsession with him ‘moving upstairs’ on here is just weird. “Hey Mick, you know how you’re doing a shit job? Fancy sticking around in a different job, while we give your current job to your assistant?”
