Double whammy. In behind Bursik should save it Goal Wank There's just too many like this with Bursik, isn't there? Although seems churlish to pick up on any one particular failing after watching the last 3 friendlies! Yeah he struggles when they’re low and close to him. Close shots are the hardest imo from when I’ve played in goal but I’m not a pro. I can only think he hesitates and may want to use his feet, doesn’t goes down and then his hand isn’t in a strong position. Past just having really weak wrists which I can’t accept any pro keeper having, I can’t think of another reason why it happens so often.

The blind players who play with a bell in the ball, are better passers than Stoke.

Miserable for an hour, then the subs came on and we had movement and a bit of quality all of a sudden. Small green shoots in that last 20 mins or so, still need a keeper badly. If I was O'Niell I would be hastily arranging a game for midweek, theres lots more work needed. Forgetting to say Hearts had basically replaced most of their squint then, no wonder we “slightly” looked better.

If I was O'Niell I would be hastily arranging a game for midweek, theres lots more work needed. If we can get a forward to hold the ball up and play with Gayle it will transform the team. We have good choices then and will be far more dangerous But it won’t transform the team with Stevie Wonder in goal and a manager that thinks it’s a 5 a side knock about on a village green tactics.

My naive thinking but why didn’t he play a 433 in a friendly just to see any difference?
Or at least maybe for one half? Thoughts?

Low, reasonably well hit but savable shot beats Bursik yet again. Rarely a game goes by we don't say that.

Bursic yes but what about the 3 useless ‘defenders’ straight from Rory’s coaching manual ?

My naive thinking but why didn’t he play a 433 in a friendly just to see any difference? Or at least maybe for one half? Thoughts? We don't have a central striker. All the three we have play off a target man or as wide forwards. That's the hope I'm clinging to anyway.

To be fair I'm saving that and I'm 55 with a dodgy back. How many more? He's the worst stopper I've ever seen. Who was left back there because that was diabolical defending?

Anyone that went? I wonder how Taylor did? No Sentinel reporting? Can they afford to send Smithy? He didnt do any worse than the other 2 defenders

Positives from today: In Taylor we seem to have got another gem of a central defender. Laurent looked much sharper today, and showed more defensive awareness. Smallbone showed glimpses of what to come. I think he will be a great addition. Gayle got some minutes under his wings again. Campbell scored again, despite being shite before that. Hopefully it will give him a confidence boost. Most disappointing to me: Wilmot doesn't look comfortable at all on the left, and his decision making is a worry! Baker was really crap today and needs to up his game! Bursik still doesn't fill me with confidence.

This is why I hate the “you have to pass the ball out of trouble” mantra. It’s crap and it works even less well When your keeper can’t save simple shots. He should have registered the press and calmly smacked it out for a throw in.

At the moment most of our goals this season are coming from OGs, Pens. & dead ball situations. Exactly and against lower level teams who don’t seem to have put that much effort in. I dread to think what a good Championship side is going to do to us.

Sitting here with a pint, head in my hsnds and wondering to my self what the fucking hell is going on at Stoke... Get rid of MoN ASAP he has done enough damage to this team and its long suffering fans/supporters. If the clubs aim was to sell Stoke City to fans from outside the are of S-o-T then it has failed on every level. I feel sorry in my heart for those poor souls that have been mis-sold a season ticket. Time to go MoN you have shown to the World that you are devoid of any football nouse and that you must really hate Stoke fans for serving uo this derge week in, week out, month in, mongh out, year in ,year out. Please MoN just fuck off now to allow us to try and enjoy what bit if love we have for our club.... Think you need have one more swift nightcap pint and put ya self to bed fella, it’s not that dire. We’ve now got some decent players in, on the right wages and young and hungry, they just need some support and patience to gel.

Not too worried re Baker as we know what a good player he is. Have to say Clucas added a bit, no idea if he'll be with us come Millwall but at least looked interested.

Joe intercepted passes & fed them to him. But according to a lot on here, Joe wasn't good enough for us. He's being missed already.

Low, reasonably well hit but savable shot beats Bursik yet again. Rarely a game goes by we don't say that. For what it's worth. As a keeper I would be absolutely livid with my defence (FIVE of them at the back may I add) for their second goal. To allow a striker, 7 yards out, to have 2 free attempts on goal without a challenge being put in is inexcusable. The problem that gives Bursik then is that the player can go either side and he has to react very late or purely second guess where the player is going to put it. Then when a player puts a reasonably paced shot that close to him, its always going to be difficult to get down to with his hands and get anything meaningful on it. Take Ty's goal as a comparison, very similar situation (with regards to where he put it in respect to the keeper) but the keeper guessed and went the wrong way, but it was a "great finish" and not "shit goalkeeping" I'm not saying that there haven't been goals that Bursik should have saved, but today's goals weren't as clear cut as some are making out and more of the blame should be attributed to the defence.

Absolutely aimless football for 90 minutes. We didn’t even look fit. I couldn’t pull one positive from that display.

Harsh but fair from this Hearts fan Hearts have drawn with Crawley and lost to Preston in recent weeks. Today should have been straightforward for us but they looked a class above.
