Stonehenge in '88 was a success for the party people, (I was there).tho the aftermath was far more authoritarian than what was needed. The same with football. No body gives a fuck. The treatment of people, the policing, the inquiries... bang your head on a wall Party on 😜🖖🏽 Authoritarianism has been the way since Thatcher started.. there have been a few notable exceptions the original Acid House Parties through to Castle Morton being one thread I remember. But it was controlled and contained ultimately like everything. The modern festival scene is pale in comparison, Yeah, I agree with your thoughts, mate. Funbusters stopping funbusters

It's an excellent thorough explanation of what went on. This shouldn't be forgotten. Has anyone been held accountable?

Where are the resignations then? The Liverpool supporters should take out a class action lawsuit against UEFA or the French authorities or both.

I think UEFA are being rather naive, if they think a simple ticket refund is going to suffice. They've admitted liability, I'll be amazed if there isn't now a massive class action lawsuit against them, to cover flights and hotels and that's before we even get on to to the real meat of the matter ... damages and compensation.

Social media has it’s horrendous downsides but in cases like this it’s blown the perpetrated lies wide open with phone videos etc etc How they thought ( along with French politicians and police ) they’d get away with it is beyond belief Theres many on here who should be ashamed of themselves after believing the narrative that was issued at the time

It also shows it's usually good practice to wait for some evidence before launching into assumptions and stereotypes. In this case, it was overwhelmingly damning of the French police, politicians and UEFA.

Heard earlier that there is literally one road in and out to the Stadium and it is 16 miles outside of the City Centre of Istanbul. The metro system closes down just before the game finishes as well apparently so could be some fun and games later I reckon.

'Uefa has been accused of presenting “completely untrue” evidence to its own independent inquiry into the near-disaster at the 2022 Champions League final, to protect its safety and security unit – headed by the president’s best friend – from criticism.
The allegations have been made by Uefa’s then operations director, Sharon Burkhalter-Lau, an events management specialist, who was second in command in the planning of the 28 May final at the Stade de France between Liverpool and Real Madrid.'

They're idiots. One reason the Hillsborough lies lasted so long is the police persisted with them because it suited some peoples prejudice against Scousers. (The fact some people still believe the sinister filth is mind boggling) But in 2022 everyone has a camera in their pockets. There's so much evidence of impropriety. Yet they still think they can lie their way out of it all.
