With 4 matches to go they were 5 points clear in an automatic promotion position, having a quick glimpse at the league 2 table, if the Vile lose both of their remaining 2 matches and clubs below them pick up points from their remaining 2 games and they could miss out even on a play-off place If the Vile don't get any more points they will finish on 75 points If Swindon Town who are in 8th win their last 2 they will end up with 77 points Mansfield would only need 1 draw from 2 games Bristol Rovers would need 2 draws or 1 win Sutton would need 1 win and that would piss on the Viles chips. Can you imagine the blarting from the unwashed D-) Gouranga.

They should beat Newport to be fair but couldn't ask for a harder last game than Exeter away who will be under no pressure *as promotion secured) & will be going for the title
Any sensible Vale fan (yes I know...however there are some within their 3500 die hards) will recognise this is an excellent season for them even if they don't make the play offs or lose in the play offs

Its rather like the situation where a sudden reverse of the Earths Magnetic polarity occurs and signals the end of the World. We really hope that it never happens, but if it does there's not a lot we can do about it.

This has some potential 😊 I thought the Vile fans were hoping for a beam back in time so they could have prevented a few goals going in. Gouranga.

I see the Vale owners have today made their 3rd and final part payment to the previous owner .. thereby releasing the guarantees he held over Vale Park and the club …
some may not care , some may even hate or loathe the Vale … but hopefully most fair minded football fans will see it as a positive move for football and football in North Staffordshire ..fair play to them in wrestling and rescuing their club from what appeared even as an outsider a downward spiral that was looking likely to threaten their existence ..

I for one would love to see Vale reach the playoff final so some of my “work colleagues” get a day out at Wembley. And then get absolutely slaughtered by whoever they play obviously. Joking aside it would be a great story for the manager after what he’s endured over the past few months.

I'd love just for one season for us to be in the same league as them.
I've never grown up with the rivalry, and for me personally I'd love a few games against them to bring it back.

They’re coming for us.
In all seriousness, we should pay for a banner to be flown over Vale Park. On the wrong day, obviously.

...and at the Stoke City vs. Port Vale derby today, over 30 people were arrested in a melee outside the Bet365 Stadium. According to on-scene eyewitness accounts, the disturbance began when several bars of soap were hurled at four individuals who were then forcibly subjected to "impromptu bathing" by reputed members of the "Ultras" from the Stoke City Ladies Knitting Club armed with "SuperSoaker" type water rifles and squeegee brushes. Disturbances similar to this have become a "tradition" at this derby ever since Port Vale promoted into the Championship.
The action on the pitch delivered as usual with a nerve-wracking contest which ended in Stoke's favor at 3-2 following a controversial own-goal by the Port Vale keeper. The Vale keeper claimed he was distracted by a fearful apparition behind goal he could only describe as "either Norman Smurthwaite or an evil bottle-kiln." Turns out it was only Delia Smith with a pair of sunglasses on, attempting to secretly attend the match.
Well enough of that, Big News out of Crewe folks. The search has ended. Yes an assistant equipment-manager has been hired. Radio Stoke is the first to break this exiting news...

Lots were apparently drawn amongst Vale "fans" prior to the match, to determine who should be allocated some of the few tickets available to visiting supporters. The losers were then forced to attend the game and endure the classic "Trial by Ordeal."

You must be joking? As someone who did grow up with the rivalry, believe me when I tell you it’s shit. Stoke City have nothing to gain from being in the same league as Port Vale. It’s an embarrassment.
