are you talking about the same club that flew a plain after our relegation? And the Port Vale official tweet mocking us within an hour of that defeat to Crystal Palace after they lost 4-0 at Cambridge Seriously why the fuck any Stoke fan could wish them well is utterly beyond me I'd really like them to be in the same division as us to experience the Derby matches. If that means them getting promoted being a step closer than so be it.

They are still tossing off over an Fa Cup win in November 1992

I quite liked the last fella in charge, never a dull moment, he was quite a character :-) And with him there was a real good chance the dirty bastards would have gone out of existence. Can we have him back. Please ๐ Yes, the current owners seem decent people. I miss Smurf and before him, Bill Bell. Always good for a laugh. Don't think Smurfs getting on the bus etc. quite matched Bell's club shop and Anthony Gardener shenanigans. They were classics.

In all seriousness, we should pay for a banner to be flown over Vale Park. On the wrong day, obviously. I'd suggest a drone with a smashed toilet attached to via one of those bungee cords people used to use to secure battered leather suitcase to the roof rack of a brown Vauxhall Carlton in the 80s.

I really can't stress enough how misguided you are, no offense but you really are.. the derby matches apart from about 2 of them were some of the shittish matches i have witnessed and we are really not very good in them.

All I can remember of the derby games which we turned up for (and I literally mean just turned up) was a guaranteed 90 minutes of the most gutless performance we could muster all season. Anybody who lived in the area during the time where we were in the same league would never wish for that day to ever come around again. I was 5 years old at the time and I remember being told how shit we were when I was wearing my carling home stoke top in Comet on the festival site from a vale fan. Interesting and yet seemingly normal behaviour from there lot.

Hopefully they've blown the automatics which means they'll go into the play offs in a negative mindset. I thought they were certs a couple of weeks ago.
How any Stoke fan can wish them well is staggering. Did they wish us well in the Cup Final or after relegation? Give your heads a wobble

Give your heads a wobble Itโs good for the city apparently if they get promoted No matter where you go in the country theyโll be talking about Stoke-On-Trent and how Port Vale going from league 2 to league 1 to play the likes of Accrington,Cheltenham etc and how businesses will rush to relocate in the city They seriously believe that shite

I hear thatโs common in Liverpool but must be rare in cities like ours where the derby is territorial. Wondering how that happens; would guess half brother with a vale supporting non-mutual parent, but then thatโs not a long story so probably not.

And having a club in the premiership must have a steroidal-level impact economically. Despite that, I hope the cunts rot.

I grew up in Burslem and went Stanfield High School (Haywood High now) most the lads around there are 'unwashed' including my brother. My dad and all his family are Stokies. He started taking me as a then seven year old in 1972 and obviously I was hooked. By the time my brother took an interest in football (I'm quite a bit older) my dad wasn't going Stoke regularly so my brother followed his mates and started going Vale. So actually not that long of a story! It was fun in our house in the 80s and 90s!

There's only me and my dad and my kids who are stoke fans in our family, all my mum and dad's brothers are Vale fans even now my brother in law is a ex Vale player and all his family are Vale fans, but growing up I loved the Derby games Burslem suburban where all the family would meet b4 the game for a few beers, best game for me is when we won 2 nil at the Vale to see all the stokies in the bycars end when we scored oh happy days.

Its a funny one isnt it In Biddulph there is a fair old mix of Stoke and Vale, bants going back as far as school in the late 80s with mates and friends, and thats never changed Nowadays a good fishing trip on Facebook on a Saturday evening when one loses and the other wins is the highlight of many a weekend, and the sooner its done after full time the better as the raw bites and reactions cheer the winning party up - I cant help but reply either way if I havent started the net myself Part of me wishes them well for my mates, most go every week (some home and away and have done for decades) so I wouldnt begrudge them some success Another part of me see's the bandwagon jumpers who 'support' Vale coming out of the woodwork (same ones that came to watch Stoke in the Prem despite being 'lifelong Vale fans'....), and being able to rip them a new one when they lose Equally, as a football fan, seeing your local rivals mess it up from an almost unlosable position is one of the greatest feelings in football bar success for your own team! I commented a few days back to a Valeite mate - I hope you do it for you guys and will be pleased for you, but the minute you mess up, I will be there laughing in your face!

Every morning I wake up and thank God that I was born a Stoke City Supporter, (and not Port Vale).

I wish them and Crewe well generally. If the 3 main clubs are doing well in our little region it's good for our little region (the demilitarised zone between the North and Midlands as described in a Scouse fanzine once upon a time). It doesn't mean I wouldn't still want to batter them on and off the pitch should we ever play them. LOL.
