If you like a bit of classic rock of an evening you could do worse than these guys. Seen them loads and are probably the best tribute act I’ve seen. Coming to The Rigger in July. Price is pretty steep but it reflects the quality www.limehouselizzy.co.uk/tour-dates

Low this Saturday in Bristol. Bob Mould coming up in June, a few days after I see Beck in London. God Speed You Black Emperor and Midlake later in the year and End of the Road Festival early September. Oops, sorry, forgot this was Stoke/local biased.

Anything going on in the city tonight as its bank holiday weekend? I know there is a death, thrash, devil, slash ya wrists metal group at the Rigger and Antarctic monkeys at 11, anything else ?

For more mainstream pop/tribute stuff: I can thoroughly recommend Baddeley Green WMC and a new-ish venue is The Factory Floor at Potbank ‘The Quarter’ Spode in Stoke. One surprisingly vibrant place for atmosphere is the Friday night karaoke scene at the Old House At Home on Hartshill main road next to Kismet curry house and the real ale/independent bar next door.

The Quarter Potbank looks to have some interesting tribute acts coming up. I might check out the Britpop band and the 90s dance ones. Disappointing that their website is poor for finding events though. Bad web design is one of my pet hates, especially when it might be crucial for a company in attracting new business. www.bspoketheband.co.uk/repertoire look good this Saturday as mentioned - I'd love a bit of Chic and Stevie Wonder - but I'm going to be all gigged out by then. 4th June - 90s Jam - www.90sjam.co.uk/song-list/27th August - Naughty 90s - www.quinnartistes.com/acts/naughty-90s-band/ (I prefer the setlist of the others) I saw Rhythm of the 90s at The Sugarmill 3ish years ago, and these 90s dance tracks sound great with a proper band. 8th October - Britpop United - britpopunited.com/

Seen them many times over the last 20 years

Northwich seems local enough. Not a band I thought I'd ever get to see, a little-known Dutch shoegaze/dream pop band called Meadowlake (who sound a like Beach House but better IMO, and maybe Slowdive-esque too).
15th May (afternoon gig I think) - Meadowlake - Salty Dog, Northwich

Baddeley Green WMC Fri 13/05, variety night with a Rod Stewart tribute act + Vikki Rosina + compete/MC is Marc Bolton. I’ve seen Marc a few times, excellent soulful voice but does a few impressions as well, comes over this way from his East Midlands base often. (Same night 13/05: Jon ‘The Beast’ Parkin @ Hanley Town) 👍🏻
