Friday 27 May Baddeley Green WMC, quite a number of performers who had soul/funk/R+B top 20 hits in the 70s + 80’s, organised by Randy Corwood who was in a Drifters tribute band but he’s obvs used his contacts to get Kenny Thomas, Janet Kay and Jaki Graham to appear. Tickets are £25 but all for a very good cause to help a little girl who has a brain tumour. Def a gig for people who are of a certain age who used to go clubbin’ up ‘Anley duck!!

The lead guitarist is obviously a big David Gilmour fan, and I think Pink Floyd and Deep Purple fans would find something to love. That plus an occasional Celtic and folky kind of sound. An outstanding band¡ They played in Crewe regularly until The Limelight closed.
Not one for rock fans but I went to see a northern soul 11 piece band in Wolverhampton last week, the Grand Theatre. Couldn’t believe you could sell out a venue midweek with a show of this genre, by the second half most people were dancing, great atmosphere. Tickets a tad steep IMO (£21 - £29) but the show NORTHERN LIVE is on at Crewe Lyceum towards the end of June 👍🏻👍🏻

Something a bit different at Keele Uni on 6th June, Maya Yousseff from Syria: Maya Youssef is hailed as ‘queen of the qanun,’ the 78-stringed Middle Eastern plucked zither. Maya’s intense and thoughtful music is rooted in the Arabic classical tradition but forges pathways into jazz, Western classical and flamenco styles.

Has anyone seen The Hollies live? I'm not a huge fan but like a few of their tunes. I'm not sure whether to see them live in Hanley this weekend. I probably definitely would if I hadn't already been to so many gigs recently.
Saw Russell Brand tonight at Viccy Hall, very good but an odd starting time (18:00) which caught a lot of people out, we thought that was just the doors opening time? Does a blend of humour, political opinion (quite Left surprise surprise!) and references to meditation and spirituality. Started the first few minutes sitting cross legged on stage - bit weird - but at half time faced a huge queue in front of the stage as he attempted to have selfies with as many as possible.
Cheshire Festival over next four days, near Knutsford, inc. tomorrow Judge Jules + 10 piece band doing (I imagine) all the 90’s Ibiza stuff, Howard from Take That is the warm up DJ spot, tickets interestingly only £13 ??
The Zutons at Cheshire Fest near Knutsford Saturday. Went tonight (Friday) for 90s dance music/rave headlined by Judge Jules. It’s a great venue, main stage indoors, huge marquee.
I blend right in at rock gigs, they fucking stink anyway😉
Your fur will stick to the floor.
Last one at the Foxlowe someone near us was particularly flachulent. I find that less anti social than people talking over the band though.
Especially with my new mullet and tash combo. Unbeknownst to me I’m actually starting to look like a badger, number 1 on the sides to expose the silver and long and black on top and back! I refuse to fart in public! I have to go the bog, again not sure if that’s a badger trait or not🤔
