This is what I'd be working to team and squad wise. Ideal team
Bursik New right back Souttar New CB New LB New DM Baker Campbell Powell New LW New ST Ideal squad
GK - Bursik Bonham Simkin RB - New right back Duhaney (FFS) LB - New left back Tymon CB - Souttar New Centre back Wilmot Forrester Taylor DM - New DM New DM/Renew Thompson but ideally not CM - Baker Clucas (try to get rid) New CM AM - Powell Vranic RW - Campbell Brown LW - New LW or Doughty DWP ST - 2 new strikers needed? And then Brown and Campbell too. I think within that lot above you need an extra CM, ideally a younger player learning and an attacker who is the same. Pretty much agree, Bayern. Yesterday's team really brought the rebuild into focus. With Baker, Powell and Souttar absent yesterday, there was virtually nothing to meaningfully follow as regards to the possible evolution of the team next season. Bit of a holding pattern until the summer. Looks like Smith will be off, and Fox and Clucas look finished here, especially Clucas. Just a question of finding a taker for them. Hopefully if Clucas is on a reduced wage, it should be possible. Fletcher and Allen will be off. Thompson is a good squad player. Vrancic will be an interesting one. It's been a while since he had a good game, although he was good when he came on for the last 20 minutes at Cardiff. 33 next month too. There's been no indication if he has a clause that means he's got an extra year if he plays a certain amount of games. If it's a choice of Sawyers or Vrancic, I'd guess he'd go for Sawyers (if WBA don't take up their option) Has Jagielka got another year in him at this level? Is it worth getting THB back? Are Forrester or Taylor ready? Has he definitively made the switch back to a back 4? If so, would he see Tymon as the first choice at LB and bring in a deputy to him - or look to bring in a Tymon upgrade? Can we get Philogene back? Maja won't be back. Does he see either Campbell or Brown as able to play up front on their own? Campbell doesn't really have the physicality or pressing he seems to like. Both of them can't play on the right. He's always said he's seen Brown as a striker in the past, but does he now mainly see him as a a wide player? Watching Maja ambling around yesterday highlighted what Brown gives you there, even on his bad days. If he thought Maja was the answer, does he know what he's looking for in lone striker role? The Sunderland fans didn't think he could play on his won, and so it's proven. Young Fletcher-type would be ideal, but they don't grow on trees, especially ones who can score goals too Bursik Bonham (youth keeper or new 3rd choice) NEW Duhaney Tymon NEW Souttar Wilmot (Jagielka Forrester Taylor) Baker Thompson (Clucas) Powell (Vrancic or Sawyers) Brown Campbell NEW Doughty (JPB?) NEW NEW? excellent assesment Has Jagielka got another year in him at this level? Is it worth getting THB back? For me yes if used sparingly and at a reduced wage. He’d be great to have around the youngsters too as he’s a great pro. Are Forrester or Taylor ready? Sounds like they’re close. Has he definitively made the switch back to a back 4? Hope so. I’m a big fan of 4231 Is it worth getting THB back? Yes 100 percent though I doubt it’ll happen. His dip in form / injury may give us a better chance. If so, would he see Tymon as the first choice at LB and bring in a deputy to him - or look to bring in a Tymon upgrade? I like Tymon. I think with experience he’ll keep improving his reading of the game. Till we find a proper target man Browns our best option up front. He’s a great player to have around. Big year for Tyrese next year. He’s got the quality just needs a good pre season. Bursik Bonham (youth keeper or new 3rd choice) I’d give Bursik a proper run and demote Bonham to 3rd choice. Get in a good experienced backup. NEW Duhaney. I like Smith but no issue with getting a better defensive minded RB. Tymon NEW Souttar Wilmot (Jagielka Forrester Taylor). Maybe one more as Harry could be vulnerable to injury. A lot depends on if we’re going with 3 CB or not. Baker Thompson (Clucas) I’d get rid of Clucas. Allen’s been excellent recently if we can get him to stay we should try. It’d be nice to get a Baker clone in as he’s got the lot. Powell (Vrancic or Sawyers) Of the 2 id go with Vrancic but Id try and get someone younger and hungrier in. Brown Campbell NEW Doughty (JPB?) Id forgotten about him NEW NEW? To summarise New no.2 GK experience at the top level RB more defensive minded one LB capable backup CM get Allen in on a reduced deal. Bring in a good physical CMer or Baker clone. AM a younger backup for Powell. Bidasse Target man *priority*

NEW NEW? It did and we were so insipid with it. I hope he bins off Bonham soon. And Wilmot isn’t a right back in a million years. Why does he keep doing it? I’d happily see Jagielka back. If Taylor or Forrester were shipped out on loan again I’d happily see THB again. I think he’s excellent. Obviously error prone but hopefully with games that will go. I think he’ll keep Tymon at left and tbh it’s not the worst thing in the world but I’m still not convinced with him in a back 4. Vrancic or Sawyers is a good point tbf. I think he’d definitely pick Sawyers. We don’t need both. So that could happen. Brown isn’t a striker. He just doesn’t play well there. His best work is on the right. I think Campbell can play up top but also ideally I’d want him on the right and more of a focal point in the middle. It would be a better balance. JPB is an interesting one. Started really well but then somewhat found out? Is that being harsh? But it certainly felt like defenders had got the measure of him after the initial surprise factor. I think what yesterday and the rest of the season tbh has shown is that you don’t actually have to be that good to get out of this league. Being average is fine.

How i look at it as it stands we need 3 first team players a RB, CM and a striker as a minimum

Absolute minimum - a partner for big Harry and a big, mobile target man we can play off up front.
And from what I've seen of him, that Blackpool right winger who ran us ragged and scored their winner.

Any of those be nice Id take Darlow, i had wondered if Bego might fancy coming back as his contract is up Ogbene do we need another RW we have 3 who can play there already need a LW more Id fancy taking Max Bird off Derby's hands more a DM just what we need next to Baker LB for me id keep Tymon and raid Derby again for Nathan Byrne can play both LB and RB send them Duhaney on loan to help them out And for our starting RB id go for Ethan Laird from the shit on loan, don't think he is near to a prem game yet and would benefit from another year in the champ I'm struggling for a forward who fits the target man role. Seems MON is to if he thinks its Maja

Elijah Anuoluwapo Oluwaferanmi Oluwatomi Oluwalana Ayomikulehin Adebayo: Impressed each time I see this lad. Can play up top on his own, has pace, aerial ability and a good striker's instinct. If they don't get promoted, can see a lot of interest. If only for his full name, we need to be in the queue!

Would Tom Davies from Everton be realistic-or desirable? Both both boxes, lots of energy, fairly skillful. He doesn't seem in Lampard's plans (unless he's injured.)

The problem is we've got so few building blocks.
Is Bursik even one under this manager? We just don't know.
It's not just tinkering. It's basically a rebuild again.

Need- Goalkeeper A back 4 ( Souttar and Wilmot on cbs on books. Tymon is wing back never an orthodox lb, we don’t have a rb) A Dm- need a twat in there at this level. Wingers/ wide forwards x 2 Goal scorer
Keep - bursik, souttar, Wilmot, Tymon, baker, Thompson, Powell, brown, Campbell Connor Taylor may get a chance after good loan
Dwp miles off ready needs a loan
Rest can all go. Pretty much a whole team… again

I think Lucas João would be a decent option up front for us. Although he missed a Chunk of this season through injury
Quite like what I’ve seen of him. Biggish, powerful. Quick.
Operating at approx 1 in 2 for reading. Not sure how attainable he’d be though. Transfer market has him at approx 5m.

We were linked with Gallagher years ago weren't we? What happened to Meite at Reading? Is he still there?
Apparently he is and was on the bench the other day. He was excellent a couple of seasons ago I recall. Think he may have been injured....
