It's all gone very quiet again....... Didn't you hear? The Delap loan is already done it's just that the contract contains far more i's and t's than is usual so it's a real faff and is taking ages to confirm. Apparently anyway..

Looks like possibly Watford's Dennis to Forest, and maybe Keinan Davis to Watford?
Hope Watford don't use their windfall to get Matt Clarke permanently.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-delap-clarke-7450478Stoke City are heading into the final three weeks of a busy transfer window still hoping to seal final deals that would be expected to have a big impact on the season. There have been seven new signings so far for Michael O'Neill and the recruitment team is working on another two that have always expected to go closer to the line. It is no secret what they want: a striker and a centre-half have been top of the agenda to try to raise the standard. But the buzz word has always been patience, knowing it might take until the final few days to get the best available players. It is a balancing act, believing it is worth going up to seven matches without them because of the impact they could make for the 39 games still remaining after the September 1 deadline.

Callum Wright from Leicester please. Maybe not 100% first team ready but would be pushing and is a highly intelligent, goal scoring box to box midfielder.
Great competition for on loan Smallbone and glass-like Powell.
Promising pre-season at Leicester but not given a squad number.

What happened re Kongolo, heard anything mate? Sounds like it's something we'd revisit only if we missed out on Matt Clarke? But you'd think we'd ideally want something with much less risk if we're after a potential difference-maker? www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-delap-clarke-7450478Fulham centre-back Terence Kongolo, aged 28, has spent a week on trial at Stoke with a potential loan in mind. It might take a lot of negotiation with his parent club but it is not off the table. The four-time capped Netherlands international has missed a large chunk of the last three seasons, partly through injury. "He trained with us for a week and showed up well," said O'Neill. "It's a deal that would be a loan deal and we'd just have to look at the complexities of that."

Sounds pretty negative.

Not what we need by any stretch so I wouldn't put it past MON to sign him.

Brighton "in no rush" over Matt Clarke. They've got an option for another 12 months apparently

I will take it, we desperately need some right wing back cover and I remember him being able to cross a ball if nowt else. Can't imagine him and MON are best mates.

Bit of comedown from a couple of years or so ago Seemed a liability more often than not. Had big mistakes in him . Made Titus Bramble look capable at times but did have some good games to be fair

www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfers-news-live-dejong-aubameyang-27682416Watford are lining up Keinan Davis from Aston Villa if they lose frontman Emmanuel Dennis to Nottingham Forest in a £20million sale.
Promoted Forest are after another striker and like the Hornets' Nigerian hitman, 24, who scored 10 Premier League goals last term.
Watford see Villa frontman Davis, 24, as an ideal replacement after he scored five goals to help Forest to promotion last term.
Championship Watford are now favourites for his signature but are set to face competition from West Brom and Burnley.
Baggies boss Steve Bruce has entered the race after losing Daryl Dike to a thigh injury.

I think if edwards returns, we get a forward in on loan and spend any money we can on Clarke then we’ll look healthier than I expected to look. Still missing a top keeper mind.

Wonder if we’ve got a Plan C/Plan D in case Delap/Davis don’t come off? You’d hope we have.
