Airport incident update. Why might there be criminal proceedings against the person who leaked the CCTV footage to the MEN? Seems odd. It's unsurprising that MEN refused to reveal their source The reason IOPC are interested to find out who leaked the CCTV Footage is because an allegation has been made that it was a Police Officer which is a Criminal offence during a Police Investigation and could jeopardise a prosecution . Fair enough that makes sense. I think. But how do you know?

If you deliberately underfund and subsequently cut a service to beyond it's core then don't be surprised when that service fails. It is pointless blaming the Police for rioting. Blame the rioters. Over 1,000 arrests and sentences handed out for the riots is the right way to meter out justice. The Police should always just film rioting until life is in danger. I think most people are sympathetic to the Police Funding cuts as well as cuts to all Public Services Nobody, at least on here is blaming the Police for the riots but the report into the Met is an entirely different issue. The Met Police have been in Special Measures for more than 2 years Mark Rowley outlined his plan to make improvements in January 2023 partly in light of Baroness Casey Report Rowley outlined three ways to restore faith in the Met a) cracking down on wrongdoers in the ranks after years of being too lax b) a pledge to have the biggest ever Met presence in neighbourhoods with 1,600 new police community support officers being hired, and c) an obvious target cutting crime. In outlining his plan Rowley : “We have been too weak in countering racism, misogyny, homophobia and ableism. We have let down those we’re here to protect – particularly London’s black communities, women and girls and the LGBTQ+ community. Huddy's link is a commentary on the latest review by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) which backed the aims of Rowley’s plans, but found no improvements in fact the reverse that in some are things are worse. There are many areas of concern in the report and as I said at the outset I am sympathetic to Funding Cuts but the Inspectorate found the Met performance far below other Constabularies in what are routine Policing. Perhaps there are unique reasons for this although not mentioned The inspectorate said: “In the year ending 30 September 2023, the Metropolitan police service recorded 789,544 victim-based crimes. “Of these, 4.1% were assigned an outcome of ‘offences brought to justice’. This was lower than expected compared [with] the 9.8% average for forces in England and Wales. More specifically, 3.1% were assigned a ‘charged/summonsed’ outcome. This was lower than the average across all forces in England and Wales of 6.3%.”

Embarrassing like the bloke says They've not helped themselves there by the look of the videos. Although we need to be careful here because we'll end up with nobody wanting to be a police officer. Then we're really fooked because the organised gangs will be running things.

We don’t really know what truly happened we’re just seeing the after effects and a commentary.

Embarrassing like the bloke says It's absolutely pathetic and they wonder why the public don't trust them? Every single one of them need to be sent back to police training school.

And it's almost always the same "kind" of people who have a go at the Police for doing what is ostensibly a near impossible job with a chronically under-staffed force...the same sort of people who are either (a) normally caught by them or (b) normally trying to avoid them for a reason.

And how people who’ve never policed become experts and form the same prejudice against police that they accuse police of when making calls based on 1 sided phone footage that never shows the start or finish of an incident. I wonder how they’d deal with people shoving phones in their faces when they’re trying to do their job.
