Would Tyrese be more likely to be in the Premier League next season with Newcastle or Stoke? I'd say it was somewhere near 50/50. I think the most likely outcome is both sides in the Championship next season that aside the money he'd earn he'd be off like a shot

From 90 football league clubs £20m would be about right. From the richest club in the world desperately trying to stay up, £30m plus add-ons please Probably is, although I could see it as who is howe going attract? Can't see top players going there unless on loan and on stupid money. He'll think he knows the championship and try show how shrewd he is by buying a gem, knowing full well any respected player will think I'll go there when you've fucked off fella.

Say what you like, proof is in the pudding. No, the proof is in the thread on which you made this prophetic statement. I can't find it. When Campbell scored on his return you made the doom laden prediction that he'd be 'gone in January' but you made no mention of Newcastle at that point or any other for that matter.

I imagine some clubs will soon forget their moral code. Nothing to do with morals. The clubs lower down the league would have had it sold to them like that but make no mistake, this is yet another power grab from the usual suspects who are running scared that their place on the gravy train is under serious threat.

So Newcastle have gone from being touted with the biggest names in Europe to a championship player who has scored 20 goals in 75 appearances at that level, who is coming back from a career threatening injury and is blowing out of his arse most games at 60 minutes.
I don’t think he will score 20 a season in the championship let alone the premier league.
This is either bullshit or Newcastle don’t have the riches being highlighted.
I’d be seriously unimpressed if I was a Newcastle fan.

I recall some pundit on the radio recently saying that given their position, Howe might be advised to buy the best in the Championship in January, as well as anyone else who might come from abroad (more likely than Prem players), so that if they get relegated they'll be ready to go with their parachute payments and slightly smaller wage bill. God knows who they might be looking at though. I guess Brereton Diaz is the hot striker, but is he good enough? They could always buy back Mitrovic

The deluded Geordies will be expecting a queue of Harry Kane, Haaland, Mbappe and possibly Messi all to be champing at the bit to relocate to the grim North East. They will be suicidal when it's Tyrese that rocks up.

Not sure it would be as good a move for Tyrese as many are suggesting, apart from financially. Newcastle stay up ,Tyrese immediately gets replaced with expensive foreign imports. He then sits out the rest of his contract not playing. Nobody else can afford to buy him because of his wages( see Dwight Gayle). Tyrese moved from Man City because he wanted to play. He threatened to move from Stoke because he wanted to play. I'm not sure money is his sole motivating factor.

We won't sell him in January, and nor will they want him. He seems to have his head screwed on and he knows if he carries on, his time will come for a decent move. A move to Newcastle in the bottom 3 of the PL on the back of a bad injury isn't one (in terms of football at least).

It’s what you can get for the £20 million to replace him which is the problem, not a lot at all unless you go down the road of 30 plus journey men

With twenty mill in our pockets l'd hope we'd be a bit more ambitious that that ! In what way sorry? You can be ambitious by using your money sensibly and futureproofing yourself as best you can. Spaffing it on a ‘rock the city’ signing doesn’t really happen at this level.

How much would promotion be worth to us? Surely that has to be the value we put on Campbell. If he becomes a consistent scorer for us his goals could get us promoted. No chance Newcastle would give us that much so not going to happen.

There seems to have been a few stories about Prem clubs being unwilling to deal with Newcastle in January. Yeh, that'll be right with money involved. Premier League clubs have the same moral values of a prostitute or a solicitor so can't see them not doing business once money is waved under their moses, regardless of the blood on it.
