Newcastle is actually a very fine city, that said, Newcastle Utd are currently the pariahs of English football so hopefully Ty will steer well clear.

With twenty mill in our pockets l'd hope we'd be a bit more ambitious that that ! In what way sorry? You can be ambitious by using your money sensibly and futureproofing yourself as best you can. Spaffing it on a ‘rock the city’ signing doesn’t really happen at this level. By picking up two or three of the best proven Championship level players (e.g. a Ty replacement, a DCM and a specialist left sided centre back).

I’d fully expect them to go for him if they’re relegated, but I can’t see them targeting an unproven (at that level) youngster who has just come back from a serious injury to help their survival bid.

Arent they trying to get Mbappe as well?
At the end of the day money talks and Tye would get a ridiculous wage if he signs with them.
However I do expect every man and his dog will be linked to Newcastle in the January window, so Im guessing this is just journalist rumours.

It’s not exactly a paper seller/click bait of a rumour to make up though? And Howe is a longtime fan of the player.

But surely the fact the club is owned by Saudi billionaires will demand some marquee signings up front? I would say chances of this happening are about 1 in 10. However if a bid DOES arise he will be off like a rat up a drainpipe earning 100k + a week. He will be on the C list for Newcastle owners when they try and fail to get Mbappe/Dembele etc

Mad to sell him, he's one of those players that if you get promoted (and we need him to get promoted) could sell for mega bucks after impressing for a season in the division. He's a shit hot finisher with pace

He's a shit hot finisher with pace How do we sell him the dream when he has the Saudi's whispering 100,000 sweet nothings into his earhole? That's before you factor in his father, who hasn't been shy of having a pop at the club in public before now.
If they come in for him, it's simply a case of how much and who we buy off the back of his fee. Keeping him will not be an option.

Obviously I want Ty to stay but if we don’t go up he’ll definitely be off which I’ve said many a time. What worries me is what O’Neill would do with 20m? We seen what he’s bought in with a couple of million,(Brown/Surridge) Would anyone trust him with 20m? That’s what worries me!!

Of course, that's the big issue. Hopefully it's the sun talking nonsense, I agree with a poster earlier, there are still big question marks on his capability to stay fit for a full season and consistent, his ability however is not in doubt. Seems a lot to spend on a player with recent injury problems with little history of a good continuous run, a risky move for a manager out to impress his new employers

There seems to have been a few stories about Prem clubs being unwilling to deal with Newcastle in January. Yeh, that'll be right with money involved. Premier League clubs have the same moral values of a prostitute or a solicitor so can't see them not doing business once money is waved under their moses, regardless of the blood on it. Maybe but wouldn’t it be better for them if they got relegated for a season though? I think that would overrule it for most of the bigger clubs?

Who were the loads criticising Vrancic? And show us the posts where you were one of the few enlightened ones sticking up for him before the QPR game? I'll save you the trouble you make no mention of Vrancic or Powell in any of your posts in the two weeks between Peterborough and QPR. You spent the entire time and all your efforts during that fortnight obsessing about sacking O'Neill and slagging Brown and Surridge. This is an example of one of your posts which tends to indicate you don't actually rate Vrancic after all= "The recruitment of this club has been mainly shocking over the last ten or so years. Hughes bought some brilliant players, probably some of the best we’ve seen for decades, but also some terrible ones too. Rowett AKA Twat, his buys were woeful and put the club deep in the cak. Jones looked like he was in supermarket sweep with a load of vouchers and didn’t know when to stop. O’Neill has bought one or two ok players but mainly crap signings, the recruitment needs sorting and can’t go on any longer, starting with the search for a new manager who I think he’ll walk before to long, which will be good because it’ll save us a payout". You were saying?
