Emre should stay where he is for the next couple of years at least. As has been pointed out, big clubs hoover up promising players, partly to prevent their rivals getting their hands on them. He would be in a good environment at Stoke and if we get promoted could be an important player for us in a few years time. However, money talks as they say and, realistically, it is likely that he will be tempted away eventually. Albeit on a smaller scale, we're a big club that does the same, it's just there are clubs bigger than us. Not that I wasn't disappointed that Sankoh left. There should be some sort of compensation, even if it's just a significant percentage of future transfer fees.

Put him on the bench now and if we get 2 up bring him on last 10 mins won't do anything harm I can’t understand why he hasn’t been on the bench. It can only increase his value and also show him that he is well thought of at Stoke

Lots of people on here say he and is family are stokefans Comes from Burton, doesn't he? Hardly a hotbed of Stoke support. Happy to be proved wrong of course.

Bellingham was a young lad at brum 16 I think but they covered thereselves some how I don't know what they did but others on here may know think when he left for Dortmund they got something like £30 million for him why don't we do the same as brum did You can't sign a professional contract until you turn 17.

Will the same happen with his brother who is supposed to be equally talented, if not more so…? Rules are rules (shit though for the club). It shows what an important role the first team pathway is. Prior to MON there hadn't been one for 15 or 20 years and most parents said as much. I don't know if Bowyer will be able to offer that at Blues or Monk was forced by the chairman but the player did okay out of it. Probably a hefty chunk of the £30m in signing on fees plus £3m in wages. The club has to be able to demonstrate a pathway to all decent youngsters. We will win some and lose some but at least with Bursik, Tyrese, Collins, Souttar we now have some evidence to back up the rhetoric and not just bullshit platitudes.

Going be a big ask to retain him if one of the big boys have serious interest. With a September birthday he would be a scholar for a month and then be eligible to sign a pro deal where he would most likely get 1-3k p/w.
Either way, great to see the academy producing players representing the country on the international stage.
Griffiths has had interest from one of the London lot also

Says you. They may well buy him then loan him out immediately anyways for first team opportunities. If there isn't a big difference between the Stoke offer and any potential offer that comes in, I would agree with you. But that's likely not to be the case if Stoke remain in this league. At some point, he will have to be willing to take a risk on himself and try to figure out whether they want him (if they do) so noone else can have him, or if he truly believes that he could play for them sometime, given his youth career trajectory.

What was the name of the lad who went to Chelsea a couple of years ago? He scored some great goals in a cup run, can’t remember if it was under 23s or under 18s?

He went to Stuttgart in the end and was sniffing around a first team spot before getting seriously injured, Mohammed Sankho he'll be out until well into next year according to reports.....

And who is going to sign a 17 year old striker on loan a league 1 or 2 or an Ervidse team ? Thats not going to tell you too much, if he were to join a club like Chelsea, their manager is always on a ticking clock so given the choice they take a ready made option like Lukaku over a work in progress like Tammy Abraham, you also need to factor in the Chelseas and Man Cities will have players of his talent in every age group hopefully Tyrese and Powell can give him the benefit of their experience, I personally would be waiting until a club signs you as a first team player not just someone to loan out here, there and everywhere.

He's going to stay and be the next Jimmy Greenhoff It has always pissed me off with Garth Crooks, Stoke developed him and Tottenham have always been credited as his career i football.

The hype around Greenidge was amusing although he did play better than Campbell in the Youth Cup semi's.
But he was clearly just bigger than everyone and that was always going to be hard to translate into proper football.
It's mad how far Campbell has come on too. His left foot was always a wand and he was always quick but that was about it. He's developed into a well rounded two footed player who's good in the air. And the two footed bit is the maddest bit for me and credit to him and whoever told him he needed to sort it out. He would never use his right foot for the 18s and it was a definite weakness and the better defenders knew how to stop him. He and/or coaches saw that and changed it. He's better with his right foot now than most of our right footed players.

I would hope that MON would have a chat with Emre and his parents very soon and try to persuade them that he is in a good place at the moment within the present coaching team. I think he is probably more likely to progress through the age groups and maybe to the bench/First team towards the end of that period than if he were at a bigger club. The last place he should go to, in my opinion is Chelsea. If, by that time a big club came in and offered serious money and he wanted to move, then he should be given an assurance that the club would not stand in his way. By that time, hopefully, we might be in the Premier League ourselves.

Whatever he, his family or whoever else decide to do I hope he continues to progress as he has been doing and goes on to be a star for England. He’s got the potential and definitely has the talent going off his England performances. It’s a long road but I’m confident he’ll be supported to achieve.
I’d love him to do it with Stoke but he’s got to do what he feels is best for him.*
(*Which is definitely staying with Stoke from my totally unbiased position…)
