Unless his parents are made of amazingly stern stuff and are blessed with long term vision that few of us are when faced with seemingly life changing opportunities we are absolutely snookered here. Just look at the club lists of the international squad further up the thread - the big 6 hoover up virtually everything.

Unlike Sankoh, he's a Stoke fan, his family are Stoke fans and he has proper links to the area and the club. We can also give him a pathway to playing football sooner than the likes of Man Yoo etc. It is of course an incredibly difficult choice for all concerned and each path has its merits, its pitfalls and its outright negatives. But unlike Sankoh I think the package we can offer here is actually a very good one and one that may ultimately work. And I'm not having a go at Sankoh or the club. He did 100% the right thing imo and we tried to keep him as best we could. It's just one of those (shitty) things.

We have to sell him and his parents: 1) That he is better off here, like Campbell. 2) That if the right offer comes along in the future, for both club and player, we will sell him, Like Collins

Sankoh has played one game Which might be one game more than would have got here?
Hope Bayern is right be Tezgel but him and his family are going to be tempted by the big clubs

Can we not match any financial incentives man UTD would give to the family?
Tbh I think going to those clubs at this stage would be a big mistake when he knows he could soon be getting first team action here. He should focus on being a first teamer here and making it as a pro first, the rest will follow easily and too many youngsters fail at clubs like man u, Citeh and liverpool

As far as playing in Europe is concerned, how will the rule changes (Brexit) affect that? Non EU residents can only stay 90 days per year now, would a 16 year old get a work permit?

Goalkeepers: True Grant (Manchester City), Darryl Ombang (Leeds United), Tommy Setford (Ajax) Defenders: Josh Davidson (Liverpool), Joshua Feeney (Aston Villa), Habeeb Ogunneye (Manchester United), Ashley Phillips (Blackburn Rovers), Oliver Scarles (West Ham United), Isaac Smith (Manchester City) Midfielders: Leo Castledine (Chelsea), Rio Kyerematen (Tottenham Hotspur), Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United), Nico O’Reilly (Manchester City), Travis Patterson (Aston Villa), Samuel Rak-Sakyi (Chelsea), Kane Taylor (Manchester City) Forwards: Jobe Bellingham (Birmingham City), Jamie Donley (Tottenham Hotspur), Amario Cozier-Duberry (Arsenal), Ronnie Stutter (Chelsea), Emre Tezgel (Stoke City) One of the guys I worked with Tipped me off about Jude Bellingham before preseason where he made his debut. And APPARENTLY Jobe is supposed to be even better. Their father was a senior police officer and a high scoring amateur (semi pro) at a good level. The father rates Jobe as a better player - a striker with goals in him.

There's always going to be interest But not sure how much of a pull for a 17yo striker who wants to get a foot in the door of pro football any of those three would be, despite the initial appeal (if there actually is any interest) Tyrese Campbell had to leave, Liam Delap will probably have to leave Lukaku had to leave only to come back 10 years later, Solanke had to leave, Bamford had to leave...and on and on it goes. I wonder how well Tezgel knows Powell...

Hope Bayern is right be Tezgel but him and his family are going to be tempted by the big clubs Only 1 because of injury though and would have been a fixture on their bench this season bar it. And of course they will be but moving to a Man City now really isn't a good idea imo. There's just no evidence to suggest that football wise their progression will be speeded up by it.

Incredibly difficult for the lad and his parents. As much as we think it's an easy decision being Stoke fans, just imagine if someone came up to you and offered a potentially amazing and secure future for your child, you'd want the very best for them. Additionally just imagine if he stayed to please his parents or other Stokies and suffers a major career ending injury, would he resent his family and his decision?
I honestly hope he can make a sound devision for the right reasons for him and whatever will be, will be (at Stoke of course 😉)

If there is actual interest, I’d throw him on the bench as opposed to Ince now. If we are going to get screwed out of an actual investment, we may as well try and make some money off of it. Every few minutes on the pitch, even if it’s just 3-10 at the end of a good win, adds value to his stock. Much more than scoring in the kids leagues anyways.
With regards to “it may hurt his development”, that would only bother me if his development was to be continued at Stoke.

Hopefully when he turns 16 we have the foresight to get him into the team a couple of times to increase the club compensation if that were to occur. I’m not saying we would get the kind of fee that Birmingham got for Bellingham, but we should get substantially more if he’s played a few times for us (assuming that he continues the progress he seems to be making). It’s this sort of situation that makes me despair of football if I’m being serious. Nobody wants to address the ‘factory farming’ of outstanding youth talent by a few clubs. It’s been the same for years and will never change IMO, I knew a Man City scout many years ago and he was forever bragging about his work in the local area and his links to their parents.

Is it a case that no one wants to address it because ultimately it works?
Look at England.

What is the point in clubs outside the top 6 trying to nurture young players when as soon as they get a "good 'un" the moneybucks start sniffing around and hoover them up for peanuts - and in a lot of cases ruin their career.
The rules need to change - ie being able to get "proper" compensation when a youngster is poached - ie not a few hundred grand but millions or being allowed to sign players on some sort of pseudo contract when they are 14 or 15 which works for the player and club.

Emre should stay where he is for the next couple of years at least. As has been pointed out, big clubs hoover up promising players, partly to prevent their rivals getting their hands on them. He would be in a good environment at Stoke and if we get promoted could be an important player for us in a few years time. However, money talks as they say and, realistically, it is likely that he will be tempted away eventually.

We're going to get screwed by the system here aren't we? probably & if we not we will be very lucky happens over & over again Defoe at Charlton, Sterling at QPR e.t.c. seems wrong to artificially put him on the first team bench, or even the pitch, before h's really 'ready' but the argument to do so is going to gain momentum plus of course could all end up on too much pressure on the kid god i hate Chelsea

He could do us a favour. I wouldn't overly give a shit though if it was me. Lets hope he's not as self serving as I am. But none of us can complain if he is. Only about the terrible system that is in place.
