Anyone explain. He signed a new one year contract with Brighton So is he a FA at end of Loan period ? I think they've just added a year on to a remaining year on his current deal mate...stops him leaving for free after his loan to us.

Exactly my point Well one at right back anyway. He did it with Collins 😱 I felt that was more the fact that Collins needed game time and he didn't feel he was better than Chester, Souttar or Batth. I'd be surprised if we bring in a centre back just to play him as a right wingback. I don't usually look at MON teams and think, "why is he playing half the squad in positions foreign to them?" He won’t play him at wingback Just Collins could play there

www.vg.no/sport/fotball/i/G3Pjpl/maatte-kjempe-seg-til-utlaan-fra-premier-league-klubben-det-ble-litt-krigingI HAD TO FIGHT FOR A LOAN FROM THE PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB: - THERE WAS A BIT OF A FIGHT Nomadic life continues for Leo Skiri Østigård (21), who has been in six clubs for four years. Now he is sacrificing the opportunity for Premier League minutes in Brighton to play as much as possible in Stoke. When manager Graham Potter could not promise him a sufficient number of games, the youngster had to take a real round with himself. This resulted in the third loan in three seasons. - I could have chosen to stay, and possibly get some matches in the Premier League. It would certainly be cool, but in the long run it is not the best solution. I am dependent on playing time, and it would not have been lucky for my development to end up with five games next year, says Skiri Østigård to VG. - I have become accustomed to this, even though it is far from optimal, he continues. He makes no secret of the fact that he hopes the Premier League opportunity comes next summer. If not, he is aware that he will be sold. - It has been a bit tough mentally. There has been a lot of relocation in recent years, and it takes effort to always have to start again. It's tough, even though I have thrived in the clubs I have been to. But now I will soon establish myself somewhere. He says that there had to be long discussions with the club that owns him about the way forward. In the end, he extended his contract by one year, although the club would like to have a long-term contract in place. Østigård is aware that he refuses to end up in the same situation again next year. A shorter contract gives him better cards on hand in 2022. - There was a bit of a fight, but I stood by what I think is right for me. There had been opportunities for a permanent transfer this summer, but when Brighton refused to sell me, this was the only option for me. Eventually they understood that. Then we will see if they will invest in me or not next year, but the signals are that they have a long-term plan for me. The national team stopper, who was not in the previous squad, says that he had several opportunities in the Championship this summer. A return to Coventry was also relevant. But a conversation with Stoke manager Michael O'Neill was crucial. - They've been looking for me for a long time. Stoke is a big club that has received several good signings this summer. They want to fight for promotion, so this will be a step up. That they, like Brighton, play with three at the back was also crucial, says Østigård, who made his debut only five hours after he had signed the loan agreement on Wednesday. - It is always a bit nerve-wracking to play the first game, but despite the fact that I am young, I have gained some experience. It was good to get 90 minutes in the bank, he emphasizes.

Got a seriously good feeling about this signing. A big, hard ******* that is good in the air and can pass the ball bundled with oodles of self confidence.
Loving this new recruitment model. Love it.

Was talking to a Brighton fan who says they keep doing the same, extra year each time. I'm sure if we really wanted him they would talk.

Can’t believe no one has said anything about this lad. Absolutely class today personally thought he was better then Wilmot. He battled for everything in the air, brought the ball out well and drove us forward.
I hope we can get him permanently as this back 4 has premier league written all over them.

Proper evil fucker.
You can already tell he’s going to be immense, he looks like the sort of bloke who if you shot him it would just wind him up.

We have a very promising defence, if you include Dougherty at wing back (when fit) average age is 21. A forward line of Surridge, Campbell and Brown, the same age. Add a youthfull energetic midfielder and creative player, and we could have the makings of a very successful season, and future.
On yesterdays game, missing Vrancic was massive. We would have won with a little more creativity.

He has the genes of Huth & Abdolaye The Lord in him Im certain. Everyone loves a goal scorer. A flair player. But I have to be honest. You can’t beat a proper hard bastard defender. Sandford. Big Vince. Cranson. Faye. Ryan. Huth. Going back further. Smith. Pejic. Bloor. Something about a crunching tackle. A thudding header. Love it.

When they have shit like Shane Duffy starting at Brighton he mustn't be rated very highly so we must at least have a chance signing him permanent if he fancies it.

That's a cracking little interview for a loanee, speaks really warmly of the club and the manager, wants the fans to forget he's just on loan. Goes as far as to say he's "building support for the club" in Norway! There's DNA in there I tell thee
