Dejan Savicevic, fantastic goal that night, what a brilliantly skilled player he was, another one of those mercurial number 10's who was unplayable on his day and nondescript on other occasions, two European Cup wins with different teams though and a real treat to watch his mazy dribbling when he was on song. And he always looked like he’d been dragged out of the nearest boozer in an emergency. Great players those Yugoslavs with Stojkovic, Prosinecki, and Pancev Yes great players. Savicevic was like one of those Sunday morning lads who had been out on the piss until four in the morning then turned up to play at eleven, he'd get the ball then no one could get it off him, his own team or the opposition, just played his own game, brilliant skills.

Franco Baresi. One of the classiest central defenders I've ever seen. And managed to look 60 when he was 30. Im sure it was Ray Wilkins that once said at the end of the game, while all the other players were dripping in sweat, Baresi looked like hed barely broken sweat and still smelt of Armani aftershave. He was that good at reading the game, his onpitch movement was minimal Possibly the best Centre half ever Paolo Maldini was also imperious, think there's a bizarre stat that showed,on average,he made less than one tackle per game for the duration of his career?! It was all about reading the game and anticipating where the ball would be to intercept it. Italian football seems to produce so many tactically astute players generally, but defenders in particular.

Not many players did that to Costacurta 👏👏 Baggio joined Milan not long after but never hit the same heights there as he did at Juve

Yeah Maldini and Baresi would probably both make all time world 11s

I wonder what VAR would make of him. The 2nd one would be a penalty and the 3rd a free kick just outside the box in today's game

Mark Hateley with a thumping header in the Milan derby. Hateley is still a legend amongst the Milan support for that header. The ultras have a huge flag of it which theyve used as part of the choreography at certain derby games
