Amen to that. Undoubtedly one of the best to ever play the game, his record is outstanding. Absolutely right. Awesome with the bat. The Pakistani crowd loved him. What a racket they made when he was at the wicket… Inzamam, Inzamam, Inzamam… Indeed. His run outs were world class too.

Blimey! Lancs 57-8 at lunch...the perils of Lords in September.
I can remember going to a few NatWest Trophy finals where the side which lost the toss got put in and were half a dozen down by the time they reached 100. That was usually game over by and large.
I'll reserve judgment on this until Warwickshire have had a bat, the pitch might treat them even worse...!

I'm not counting any chickens. Plus we had Hampshire a similar score at Edgbaston and ended up losing. Bizarre game that was, both first innings were over on day one, the match went the full four days!

If Lancashire are lulling Warwickshire into a false sense of security I think now is the time to make their move......

Will Lancashire dig in and ensure we see cricket in October, that is the question....... I hope so...Alex Davies run out already. What on earth was he doing trying to pinch a quick single in this situation?! He's a good white ball player, but if i'm honest, I won't miss him opening the batting in the Championship for Lancs next season. Looks like it'll be Keaton Jennings and Phil Salt.

Helping his new employers, perhaps Very odd fifth wicket dismissal, he was nowhere near edging that to slip, but chose to walk off? You can always tell when you've nicked it. Maybe he just didn't fancy it? Rain forecast for tomorrow am...

Well done Warwickshire. I guess that that seems a suitable place to start to wrap up the Summer Cricket Thread 2021 seeing as it started back in April with the opening day of the County Championship. It’s been a bit of a mixed bag. The Good… and this is a very big good, we’ve had the joy of having cricket being played in front of a live crowd. And, that’s about it I’m afraid apart from a few random moments like that six Livingstone hit over the stand at Headingley and Root’s batting generally. Also England are still pretty awesome in white ball cricket. Now for the Bad… our test match side is still a mess. The Hundred is Horrible. The first class game in England is a shambles. Oh… and batsmen have been neutered. And sadly there’s a couple of Ugly things… India quitting a test series to join up with the rescheduled IPL and England, disgracefully and shamefully, pulling out of a short tour of Pakistan. Next up the T20 World Cup where we go with as good a chance as anyone of picking up the trophy.

Lancs avoid their worst ever defeat against another County by....one run! Well done the Bears, still not really convinced by this format of winning the CC then straightaway being given the chance to win another trophy on the back of that, but there you go. The Telegraph reporting that the competition wasn't even discussed at the meeting of County executives on Wednesday so it might disappear. Nice if the trophy stays in perpetuity at Bob's county home.

No me neither, the format is almost there but not quite.....
