I think we will have to take a 'punt' on someone and hope it comes up trump's. I would rather that then piss away more money. MON strikes me as quite cautious in getting the right character types. I think I trust him more than any of his recent predecessors.

Never say never - but was looking at the new regulations yesterday and it's hard to see anyone we could reasonably hope to attract/afford getting the points in the relevant criteria to get a permit. Ex Sunderland striker Josh Maja is being linked with a move back to England from Bordeaux. If we can afford him - that's more like the sort of player we need

www.teamtalk.com/news/exclusive-west-ham-qpr-osayi-samuel-transferQueens Park Rangers are ready to sell Bright Osayi-Samuel after failed attempts to tie him down to a new contract, TEAMtalk understands. TEAMtalk understands that West Ham are one of two Premier League suitors looking at the versatile attacker. Crystal Palace also remain keen on taking him across London. Indeed, the Eagles showed interest in the previous transfer window. But Osayi-Samuel has further interest in the Championship, with Swansea and Stoke willing to do a deal.

FFP experts, can we fit in a signing for a few million this window? Can't see QPR turning down a couple of million for a player out of contract this summer

Samuel would really be my preferred signing this window! You don't want a goalscorer then? Who said he is a direct replacement for Campbell? He normally plays outwide for QPR and is a really exciting player who offers pace and skill. We would be lucky to get him.

You don't want a goalscorer then? Who said he is a direct replacement for Campbell? He normally plays outwide for QPR and is a really exciting player who offers pace and skill. We would be lucky to get him. To replace Campbell we'd need upward of 15m maybe more, we just don't have that to spend. Plus he was literally on the form of his career. We won't simply get a player to fill his boots cheap, and there no guarantee. (Afobe & Ince springs to mind). I really thought we wouls have 30+ goals between them that season. Waste of money. So gambles and hidden talents like Osayi would come at a fraction of a price. Certainly tore us a new one last year and gone very quiet since. Campbells record before MON was nothing to be excited about, I couldn't see where his career was going at Stoke. A bit like Moult, Ngoy and Shenton. MON will certainly bring out the best in some players and what ever happens I'm sure a player whou has slipped of the radar but shown glimpses in seasons might be just what we can only afford or attract. It's surely an attractive offer for any player who wants 15-20 games before May to show what they can do if loans is the only market we can grab.

There'll probably be a Prem team who'll take him as a squad player on decent wages and a low fee.

You would imagine we would be well down his list of destinations, that said, we are in a much better place this January, so you never know. He's the type we should be looking at, in addition to a central striker.

His injuries would be a concern but I’ve no idea if he’s recovered fully. He was a top prospect when he burst onto the scene. It’s a risk I doubt we’ll take.
