With our injury hoodoo whoever we sign will be out for the rest of the season with hamstring or ligament injury by end of Feb. Having scored 6 goals already of course. I believe our fitness regime could’ve finished the career of Evel Knievel, a man who broke every bone in his body and still beat world records whilst in a plaster cast. Nearly as hard as Denis Smith then!

Shankland is apparently still on the radar

Not sure Clarke excites me if he is the winger type we are after. Shankland would be an interesting gamble. Very good finisher.

I’d certainly be looking at the Free agents again due to FFP I don’t know if this effects it still at all?
We need options to rotate and freshen the squad up.

So in terms of striker-types and more wingery-types, who have we got as possibles and long-shots?
If we throw enough at the wall, we may get one right!
Liam Delap Duncan Watmore Michael Obafemi Keinan Davis Matej Vydra Joe Gelhardt Sam Greenwood Louie Barry Charlie Austin Randell Williams
Jack Clarke Bright Osayi-Samuel Alfie Doughty Jordan Jones Mallik Wilks Keane Lewis-Potter Siriki Dembele CJ Hamilton Ronan Curtis

How have the injuries affected Watmore?
Because when he first broke through he looked like he’d be a good PL player.

Worth keeping an eye on as he was very highly regarded at Man Utd. Van Gaal gave him a 5 year deal which only just expired. If he can get back on track at 24 he still has time to become a decent player.

Ah that’s good. He looked class when he first came through at Sunderland. Would be a fantastic addition.

We're looking at kyle Edwards from West Brom 23 year old LW

"dynamic" certainly implies someone with a bit of pace, rather than a bit of a lump (which isn't surprising, but good to hear)

I see the French leagues are going through financial difficulties at the moment, I wonder if there’s a forward over there we could take?

Never say never - but was looking at the new regulations yesterday and it's hard to see anyone we could reasonably hope to attract/afford getting the points in the relevant criteria to get a permit.

Not dynamic but just put on t/f thread.
Joe Garner has had his contract terminated at Wigan (he was on good money for Wigan) 32 yo forward more in the Gregory mode hopefully not on our radar.

"dynamic" certainly implies someone with a bit of pace, rather than a bit of a lump (which isn't surprising, but good to hear) The only descriptor I’m interested in is a capability to get the ball to hit the back of the net when presented with a clear chance, and on a regular basis! Plus not getting crocked when starting to come good...

Oh wait ... Or is there another one we’ve not yet unearthed?

Louie Barry on that list for me. He can play as a striker or on the right & left wing to. He's scored 4 in 7 in the U.23's including in a recent game v us at Clayton Wood & is very highly rated. A season long loan and he could potentially be exactly what we're after right now.

An average striker would look dynamic compared to the ones we have now.
