No it’s not. It’s a double groin injury. A ‘Trauma’ injury whatever that actually means. Should never have recruited a player with a double-groin. That’s just risking twice the amount of injury. Hughes out!

Davis is on his way to Derby FM according to local press Davis has been knocking on the door of the first team squad at Villa. Sure they have Wesley back in contention after long term injury soon too so maybe we'll stocked in the striker department. Recently saw an interview with Grealish where he couldn't sing Davis's praises enough, said how strong he was and named him as possibly the the strongest player at Villa. His goal to game ratio isn't particularly amazing just yet but sure that'll come. Remember when Tammy Abraham wasn't prolific but his loan move to Villa helped catapult them into the play offs and the Prem & he managed to score a few for them in the process. Think Davies will be a good signing for whoever is lucky enough to land him.

Obafemi the best bet I think. Can play wide or down the middle. We’ve done business with Saints recently too. I thought he may have pushed on by now but can understand why he’s not getting picked. He’d let us down. Attitude problem and a questionable temperament by all accounts. Yep-good article on him in Irish Independent recently when he held his hands up and said he had to knuckle down a bit. Raph H actually spoke out about him saying was wasting his talent so may suggest he could loan him out and not in his plans so much. He wasn't happy about being overlooked by Ireland but to be fair had the guts to admit was his own fault later

I'm a big fan of Kirk, he's an old fashioned left winger who hogs the touchline. On his day he's an exciting player to watch. He's been criticised for his lack of tracking back in the past but he's got better lately. Like Pickering he'd be cheap and worth a punt but I'm not sure he's better / as good as Verlinden.

That article makes them all sound very promising, to think we could probably have signed them all for the price of one Sam Vokes. Hopefully we’ve learnt our lesson on signing big names for big fees and we go in a new direction picking out the stars of the future from the lower leagues.

Doesn’t he have a 1st class degree, his Dad a former Foreign Office official who then ran the FA and his Mum a CofE official? Knee injuries have checked his progress.

According to Mark Robbins, our bench was "frightening" on Sat, so surely we have enough in the tank ???? Vokes frightens me as well.

I believe our fitness regime could’ve finished the career of Evel Knievel, a man who broke every bone in his body and still beat world records whilst in a plaster cast.

January priority For all Warnock wishes to add to his squad with at least one new winger next month, the priority for Boro is surely making sure Duncan Watmore stays put and signs an extension.
It's little wonder reports have emerged claiming clubs in the bottom half of the Premier League and top half of the Championship are monitoring his situation.
At Hillsborough, he was bright and full of pace and purpose. He made life uncomfortable for the home defenders and showed composure in the box to slot home his goal, moving him to the top of Boro's goal charts with five for the season. And he only signed in mid-November.
For all there's understandable interest from elsewhere, Watmore is clearly in a happy place right now.
Hopefully a deal can be struck that suits all parties.

Hopefully a deal can be struck that suits all parties. If he does not sign an extension of his contract at Boro, then I would have thought that the "Big Sam" connection might tempt him to West Brom with the chance to play in the Premier League - even if not for very long the way things are going at the Hawthorns. He was dubbed the "ginger Messi" when he played for one of the Junior England teams. I would like us to give him a chance and his family still lives within easy commuting distance of the Potteries.

This is an interesting one too - although he may have better options than us? footballleagueworld.co.uk/alfie-doughtys-situation-at-charlton-athletic-as-the-january-transfer-window-approaches/theathletic.co.uk/2282887/2020/12/30/alfie-doughty-charlton-athletic/Pace is the first thing you notice about Doughty. Remarkable pace. Relentless pace. The sort of pace that makes defenders cower and do very silly things indeed.
Doughty has already become one of those players that defenders would prefer to foul and accept a booking, rather than risk them getting anywhere near goal. All of this interest is heightened because Doughty’s contract is up in the summer. New Charlton owner Thomas Sandgaard has said that they will do what they can to keep him and tie Doughty down to a new deal, but The Athletic understands that no decision has been made on his future yet. The main wrinkle at the moment is that injury. Doughty tore his hamstring and is unlikely to return until at least the back end of January. But although his manager Lee Bowyer raised eyebrows recently when he questioned whether Doughty would be the same player again (remarks that were presumably a fairly clumsy attempt to put any potential suitors off), the chances are he will recover in full. He might even come back better.
