If Vokes and Ince are on the same pitch Saturday I don’t think my head could handle it.

Yes he was and we had two wingers on the bench. We had one who is recovering from a long lay off. Forget Ince, he’s a warm body when we have no one else. MON knows it, most Stoke fans know it......

Yes he was and we had two wingers on the bench. One of whom was Tom Ince so he doesn't count. But he does, like it or not, he still would have been the better option than what actually happened. There was no need to invite them onto us but thats what we did. Even putting Tymon out wide and bringing Boothe on would have been preferable.

Too late by then we'd gone he threw any momentum away there and then. I don't get the determination to stick the boot into the manager. The man is a miracle worker. We've gone from bottom of the league and destined for league 1 to 3 points off the top of the league with a team being patched up and put out onto the pitch 3 times per week. There is one place and one place only any anger should be directed tonight and it most definitely isn't in the direction of the manager. This is a match thread not a season thread a game by game assessment and tonight his subs were shocking and in my opinion cost us. I've not said sack him but he's not above criticism. If players are held to account on a match basis so is he what on earth is wrong with saying tonight he was crap.

Yeah I expected Powell to take it. Why would Vokes take it? All of our managers making tonight. All of our managers making tonight. Not the injuries, the missed penalty and the two defensive errors from set pieces. All on the manager apparently..... Yup. The manager shouldn’t be allowing him take penalties. Absolute madness.

Take a look at the table tomorrow night after 16 games and then work out who is the dimwit , answers on a post card please . So are we miles off then or not ? We are miles off top two absolutely Bournemouth and Norwich are far better as the table will show , Watford are better and so are Swansea three of who. Have beaten us already , but we are playing with one arm behind us right now clucas , Allen , Fletcher , davies, mikel Souttar , Baht , Campbell from tonight are good enough to be starters in this team

We don’t lose that game with Souttar and or Baht , Collins inexperience exposed but he will learn , what’s key is we are still in touch in January and most important Campbell injury isn’t a long job but that’s the biggest worry for me seeing how he knew as soon as he fell Collins made a mistake tonight but I think you are forgetting the mistakes made by Souttar and Batth against both Huddersfield and Norwich.

I don't understand the Shawcross abuse. He played well and put in some great tackles. I agree it seemed strange to send him on for Brown but MON had just watched Collins gift them a goal by misjudging a high ball. I guess his feeling was go to 3 at the back to let Smith get forward down the wing but it didn't work out.
I was surprised not to see Verlinden on for McLean for 10 minutes when Mclean's characteristic indiscipline and nasty streak when frustrated earned him a yellow card which means he'll miss Saturday and Verlinden could be his replacement. I think it's more likely to be Tymon on the left though and hopefully Mikel back.

I haven't got time for a long drawn out argument. I've got an early start tomorrow so I'm off to bed. Not sure where I've ever proclaimed to be "always right". Think you must be mixing me up with Bayern.

Vokes showing his welsh colours by not playing again his countrymen. Vokes was rubbish but don't make yourself look foolush with idiotic claims like this. Mad quotes during heated moments in a match are part and parcel of the game.

Understood but both are at their best facing the high ball manager had no choice on those two albeit as I said Ryan would have started for me with Collins at right back one change not two in position terms but he needs the big players back then we might just scrape a top 6 place if we keep them fit , big risk now and always was Campbell

His natural position looks like the bench to me. 🤷♂️ Brown was being a nuisance down the middle even with his touch. It just needed a straight swap. Why swap two players when there’s no need? It was a crap sub. And then why let him take a penalty? That’s the decision I really don’t get. Vokes should know he should be nowhere near them after his record for us with them.
