Personally it would be great if Amazon got the cricket, think they've done well with the Premier League games and the Autumn Rugby union coverage was good too.. but Disney? Random.

That must be so annoying for the bowler....I don't why but it would get me going! Me too. You'd want to bang a few in at the throat for sure. Problem is he's a top player so not sure short balls from average bowlers would phase him too much! Definitely an element of Smith about him. Feels like Australia will be quite a force next winter. New Zealand are murdering Pakistan at the moment. There definitely seems to be something missing from this Pakistan side. Bring back Misbah!

Don’t forget Disney own ESPN so already have a strong interest in sport. Plus, by dint of ESPNCRICINFO, they are owners of, possibly, the finest online cricket resource. This is all part of a big shake up in sports coverage as the media giants take a stronger interest. Sky’s dominant position as non-terrestrial broadcaster of choice has gone, whether they remain significant is uncertain.

Another good day for India against Australia, at 277-5 they have a lead approaching three figures.
Barring another catastrophe they look well set to level a series they should already be leading.

As I undestand it, BT have the rights to Australian home test matches so I thought the Ashes next winter would be on that channel?.. or are Amazon et al bidding for future Ashes Test series?

The BT deal runs out this year so next winter’s ashes are up for auction.

New Zealand could make a real stab at becoming the world's number one test team they way they're going. Possibly a top class batsmen short but their bowling attack is up there and this new lad Jamieson looks a real threat as well......

Well done India - no collapse this time. Winning by 8 wickets.
Australia’s batting looks abysmal.
How will they fare against us. Possibly better I’m sad to say.
India combine an excellent pace attack with top quality spin. We have the former, but not the latter.

So onto this years Winter cricket. In December the BBL begins with some English interest but first an intriguing series with South Africa beginning November 27th with 3 T20’s followed by 3 one day games. Once again Moeen Ali picked for both squads despite an “indifferent” summer compounded by a truly awful IPL campaign. Can he produce his best form on this tour or is he mentally finished? Just reading a piece on the boxing day test and this jumped out at me, most appropriate you'll agree: "It is the pinnacle of the cricketing calendar. And not just for the 100,000 Australians baying for blood. Cricketing badgers on the other side of the world will happily pop open another bottle as Christmas Day winds down, curl up by the fire and settle down to the sights and sounds of the MCG." Perfectly described.

Happy Birthday One Day Cricket! Never knew it was born like this.. I can vaguely remember it happening. I seem to recall the BBC reported it a bit like a kick around in the park. Looking back it is surprising it took so long considering how popular the Gillette Cup and the Sunday League were, though maybe considering the views of the old crusties who ran the MCC, and therefore International cricket, probably not. Mind you as the Gillette Cup was originally 65 overs a side, it wouldn't be considered 1 day cricket nowadays, though they could probably play it as a proper day night match if they started at 10.00 a.m. and finished at 10.00 p.m. p.s. I see Sri Lanka have just taken a fearsome pasting from South Africa. I somehow doubt they will be preparing seamer friendly conditions for the England tour!

Third test between Australia and India underway.
Australia batting with Labuschangne and Smith going well.
I think I might give that batting treat a miss.
I don’t want to regurgitate my breakfast.

... supposed to fly down next Thursday for the Gabba Test - one, if India decide to play and two, totally dependent on whether the lockdown is lifted as I can’t afford two weeks off work to self-quarantine when I get back. The young fella is in Brisbane, so likely still go anyway

I'm a big cricket fan and just tuning in to BT sports last day oz v india. Just watching highlights day 4. Can you tell me what the situation is regarding the crowd. There seems to be pockets of fifty or so grouped together and then vast empty swathes of seats. Is it covid restrictions or general lack of interest? Genuine question.

Just a massively reduced capacity due to Covid. I'm guessing they're just selling them in blocks and purposely leaving some empty.....
