India on top after 2 days, but they should be even further ahead.
After yesterday’s run out disaster, they managed to shell 4 catches in the field today.
Australia must be relived they aren’t already out of this game. Mind you, their batting looks exceptionally dodgy. As ever, it seems, they’ll be looking to their tail to do a lot of wagging.

Two words......."Dick head" He’s spent too much time watching Steve Smith not realising his (Smith’s) idiosyncratic technique is not the best to try and emulate. He joins a long list of deeply objectionable Aussie cricketers. All the more reason to look forward to next year and see him up against Joffra Archer. The constant chewing of gum is even more annoying......

I actually had to turn him and Smith off when I watched them not so long ago, which is a shame as they're both very talented. I hope the Indians all shouted "no run" in unison when he was out.....

If you think you’re having a bad day, console yourself that it’s probably not as bad as India’s. Shame a test match that had the potential to go right down to the wire ended like this to be honest, but quite amusing watching Kohli implode.....

At least they got Lasbuschagne out. These day nighters always seem to end quickly with low scores. Think we’ve got one in India in February.

Was it the wicket, the bowling, the batting or a combo of the three?

Bloody hell. Decided to head up a couple of mountains to check out my post-coronavirus fitness (which wasn’t too bad) to hear on my return to the car that India had been skittled for 36.

John Edrich has died.
Sad news.
My interest in cricket kicked in as he was coming to the end of his career.
My main memory is him at the opposite end of Brian Close when Michael Holding was unleashing that fearsome barrage. I don’t recall him looking for quick singles to rotate the strike. Wise man.
Quite a stylish batsman as I remember.
RIP

He was the first English batsman I really noticed that batted left handed, which as a fellow sinister made him my first role model. He was always immaculately turned out and could and would bat all day. One of the esteemed group of players with 100+ first class centuries. RIP

Day 1 of the second test between Australia and India has just ended (sadly this isn’t a day/night affair so it’s pretty much over when I’m gett8 g up for my breakfast).
Anyway, Australia’s travails with the bat continue - bowled out for 195. India were 36-1 at stumps.
Test match cricket seems very much a bowlers game these days.
At least as far as Australia are concerned; their bowling attack is pretty awesome (as India discovered in the second innings of the first test) but their batting line up looks as weak as I’ve ever seen.

I watched the first session and the last few overs of India’s reply (I’m an insomniac).
I’d say it was more poor batting by Australia than exceptional bowling, but both sides look very fragile. Could be another 3 day low scoring affair......

I can't remember ever seeing him look anything but cool and unflustered no matter what. Even at the end of his career when he was being pounded by the West Indies quicks, he always looked cool and composed.

You lot should be sad like me and watch it when you wake up in the morning after recording it. Good point, I never check the score! The days play finishes at basically the exact point I wake up. As long as I don't accidentally open up the BBC sport app on my phone then it works a treat. Plus I can fast forward through lunch and tea to speed things up also. This tactic might prove more difficult in the Ashes next winter where avoiding the score will be more difficult but my aim is to give it a go.
