Third test between Australia and India underway. Australia batting with Labuschangne and Smith going well. I think I might give that batting treat a miss. I don’t want to regurgitate my breakfast. I'm a big cricket fan and just tuning in to BT sports last day oz v india. Just watching highlights day 4. Can you tell me what the situation is regarding the crowd. There seems to be pockets of fifty or so grouped together and then vast empty swathes of seats. Is it covid restrictions or general lack of interest? Genuine question. There are varying “lockdowns” by the looks of it. Many of the Big Bash games have been packed out

Just a massively reduced capacity due to Covid. I'm guessing they're just selling them in blocks and purposely leaving some empty..... Thanks Just seems a strange way of doing it. Expected a person every third seat or something Haha.

Respect to India for batting all of day 5 to secure a draw in the third test. 👏👏👏👏 They really are a top quality side. Arguably the best in the world at the moment. To lose the first Test and then your skipper and most influential player, win the second Test convincingly and get a draw from this one is very impressive. Would love to see them nick the last one and achieve back to back series wins in Australia. Compare and contrast this spirit and ability with England when we get there. I predict another whitewash.

We’ll done India, I watched as much as I could and it was amusing to listen to Paine’s behind the stump chirping as he then went onto drop 3 catches.
And as for Smith, not exactly sandpaper-gate but it shows the character of the man........

Didn't last long its has to be said, they're not a particularly likeable bunch are they?

And as for Smith, not exactly sandpaper-gate but it shows the character of the man........ As an aside, I’ve wondered occasionally, but never voiced out loud, an idea about taking guard... Why don’t we have three lines marked out from each stump to the popping crease? I guess they’d get roughed up a bit with the batsmen’s feet, but they could get touched up at session breaks.

I wouldn’t be so negative on England’s chances. Australia are pretty poor - we’ll their batting is. I think it will turn out to be similar to the last series here with both sides winning tests. I predict a 3-2 outcome - not sure though who will get the three wins.

Ahhh that lovely new humble Australia didn't last long did it?! They'll be on the phone to Amazon to get a second series of the Test to try and con the world they're nice people.
On a semi serious note, Langer will not like what Paine did there one bit. Daft bastard.

So how many roughly were allowed in do you know?

Cannot wait till winter 2021/22 down under. Amazing hostile cricket, sun, beer, banter in the stands, great food, wild Oz girls... Heavenly stuff.
Let's just hope they let us in!!

Looks like the team for the first test is going to be something like the below. We are pondering a third full time spinner but I don’t think we will with Mo being out, it would mean playing Crane, Parkinson or Virdi and don’t think there’s much faith there.
Sibley Crawley Bairstow Root Lawrence Buttler Curran Bess Broad Wood Leach

I'd like though to see Foakes in the side which would mean Lawrence missing out from the 11 above. Play Curran at 6 and give him a shot at being a bona fide all rounder.

Lawrence will play apart from Silverwood being his ex Essex coach, he is also a reasonable enough part time spinner so England will play safe and have him and Root as third spinners and pad the batting line up out.

Yes very true its not impossible Foakes plays instead of curran will depend on pitch, there is talk the pitches are not such roads now India have a few quicks.

We’re playing Sri Lanka but it’s still a fair argument about the pitches. Although they’re rumoured to be preparing dust bowls due to their ineptitude at the moment. Lawrence will definitely play, Foakes has had rotten luck in his international career as Buttler is a bit of a pet. Hey ho

Foakes has been unlucky not as unlucky as Chris Read was mind, they probably pick Woakes for the first test after all this again to pad out the batting.
