Lets hoe that dropped catch from Stokes is the defining moment, absolute sitter..... It was a dolly, despite Bumble and Athers making every excuse under the sun for him. That would almost certainly have been the game, Stokes needs to screw his head on here.

Big ask from here....... We need a Buttler special to win from here. With the form he’s in at the moment it’s probably unlikely.

These two playing nicely, Malan ticking along and Livingstone providing the power. It’ll be interesting if these two can bat another 20 overs, tall order but they’ve both looked pretty untroubled.

Thakur does the Plunkett roll really well for India. Just seems to have the knack of picking up wickets despite not really bowling anything special.

This chirpy chappy routine behind the stumps is all well and good but Pant needs to learn to shut his mouth when the bowler is about to release the ball......

a run a ball near enough? Yeah... if we get to 50 overs we win this game. Just can’t afford to lose another wicket

A clean sweep to finish off a very disappointing tour. A great effort from Curran but was left with just a bit too much to do.
A little bit concerning that we’ve now lost back-to-back 50 over series, with us only managing to beat Ireland since the World Cup.

Well played Sam Curran. Kohli as classless as ever towards the end of that innings, lets hope he's on the receiving end when they come over to England.....

We certainly haven’t been at full strength for this series or the home series against Australia, but neither have the opposition. I do worry about our bowling options in this format. At full strength we’ve got a decent attack but take Archer and Woakes out of the side and we suddenly become extremely average. Also I think the end is nigh for Morgan, which is a pretty scary thought as he simply can’t be replaced as a leader.

We were always behind the 8 ball in that chase losing our top wickets too quickly and too cheaply.
Curran’s innings was very good - well done to him. As I said earlier... a very tidy #8 batsman. Unfortunately not a good enough bowler, which is what his main job in the team is. He only bowled 5 overs today, 3 of which were at the start of the innings when he is supposed to be most effective. Which, sadly, he wasn’t.
Overall a disappointing end to what has been a disappointing tour, mainly down to the tests which were pretty much as bad as we feared. After that superb win in the opening test (when India picked the wrong team and prepared the wrong, for them, wicket) we were abject in the remaining tests. The white ball cricket was better, we could have won both series but ended up losing both. Which is no disgrace, but not much consolation.
Anyway.
IPL in a week or so.
This thread has a bit more juice left in the tank.

Well played Sam Curran. Kohli as classless as ever towards the end of that innings, lets hope he's on the receiving end when they come over to England..... he really is a vile individual. Treated like a god in India. Such a shame they have him and Pant as it makes them thouroghly unlikeable as a team. I think with injured players coming back we will improve. At full strength i think we’re still the best in the world. Buttler needs a rest.

I quite like Pant, he gobs off a bit behind the stumps but plays the game with a smile on his face and doesn’t seem to go overboard with the sledging. The Indian side as whole seem like a decent bunch, just Kohli and his ginormous ego that spoils it for them.

I do find Pant does go way overboard and his chirping is a little unecessary at times. He isn’t however the arrogant in likeable character that Kholi is.

The series has been played in an excellent spirit apart from Kohli, he must have some Australian in him somewhere. As for Pant, yeh he’s a bit annoying but it’s all in good humour I think, I don’t reckon it bothers the opposition too much

Disappointing tour for me all being said.
To lose 3/3 formats should be a sharp reality check.
However a poor dress rehearsal leads to a good performance so hopefully the white ball lessons have been learned for November.
Test matches are a real concern. A strong showing at home is almost a given and we do at least have express pace in Archer to take to Oz but our spin options are giving me pre-Ashes nightmares already.

Proof of the pudding will be the series over here, I think we are just a notch below them in tests but probably the equal of them in white ball stuff. Predicting a very tight test series and an England win in other formats
